vtail
Greetings all...I am confused by some of the posts. Avic-D3 install. The vehicle has the speed sensative radio volume....is hooking up the VSS wire necessary? If it needs to be hooked up, then wire color and location would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance. vtail
cntrylvr79
It's not absolutely needed. It'll imporve the accuracy slightly, and some of the vehicle dynamics will only work with it connected. As for where to get it in your car, you have 2 options. 1 Go to a wheel speed sensor. There's 2 wires there, pick one and tap it. If it doesn't register, then you picked the wrong wire, tap the other one. 2. Get a databus interface for your car. The speed pulse is sent over the vehicle's databus system. vtail
Please forgive my ignorance but...is the Metra GMOS-Lan-04 considered a databus interface? I do have this for my system. I'm installing early next week. Thanks for any additional information. Regards, vtail
cntrylvr79
Yes is it, it'll make your life alot easier. It may even give you a useable vss wire too. Though I can't be 100% on that one, since I don't really remember.
