AvicD3Silverado87
I'm installing a D3 in my 04 Silverado w/ Bose I need to know where the VSS and the reverse wires are. I also was wondering if I could use the stock XM antenna. Hope that some can help.
MisFit
Reverse Light lt. green + BCM, black plug, pin F The BCM (Body Control Module) is under the driver side dash. It has 6 plugs in it, the purple plug is on the back. Speed Sense dk. green/white 4K instrument cluster, pin A4 or PCM The PCM (Powertrain Control Module) is in the left front of the engine compartment to the left of the fan shroud. The VSS wire is in the green plug, pin 50. should be able to use antenna, may have to modify the connector a bit
cntrylvr79
Also checck the secondary plug at the radio (the smaller one) for a dk. green/white wire. If it's there, that's your vss. You can as misfit said reuse the factory xm antenna, the plastic casing has to be removed to do it.

AvicD3Silverado87
I got the D3 in and working but there are two problems: 1.The screen does not dim when the head lights are on. What wire has to be hooked to the GMOS-04. 2.There is a high pitch hiss coming from the speakers that goes with the rpm's and I checked the ground and i think its a good ground. Any suggestions? cntrylvr79
The illumination wire in the os04 doesn't work, you'll have to tap it at the switch. As for the ground noise, the os04 should have come with instructions for getting rid of that. at least the ones I use at work do. Worse comes to worse I'll check one out when I go back on monday. BTW did you find that post I mentioned?
AvicD3Silverado87
No I couldn't find it. So I just tap into wire tha goes to the head lights?

spider2k
you dont have to take the plastic plug off of the antenna end, just remove one of the notches on it and it'll click right into place.
