jimmy303
The chyah05 works fine, but, if the nav unit thinks it was in reverse all the time, check the polarity setting on your avic. Try switching it.
04ctd
The Dodge 2007 RAM has VSS in 4 locations available to be used. You don't need a CANBUS adapter to prevent CEL/SES or codes. i drove my 2006 several days with nothing hooked to the Radio plug. the Metra CANBUS only provides Ignition On/Off, you can get that signal from the left cigarette lighter (which is also controlled by the DAP - Delayed Accessory Power) so, in reality, IF you know how to PROPERLY poke around in your car and NOT destroy it as alluded to earlier, you can just buy a regular adapter, hit a VSS wire, and hit the left cigarette lighter, and you are good to go. FWIW, Crutch field will sell you the Metra Adapter, or GIVE you the regular adapter. the regular adapter ( or the Chayho ) would be better than the Metra, because the Metra has a large circuit board that must be slid somewhere. tmartin000
Maybe you can get all the access to other needed connections....But why? The CanBus adaptor is idiot proof and doesn't hack into any factory wiring.... Just buy the adaptor. you DO get VSS, Power, Illumination dim, etc....ALL THROUGH the CanBus adaptor. Just get the correct one. There maybe like three different Chrysler adaptors. Just make sure yours is the CHY with 2006 CanBus. Tom
04ctd
Tom's right, no matter how cheap you are, it will be much easier to back out the correct canbus adapter when you go to trade it in or whatever. if anyone still needs the OEM Dodge wiring PDF's for the VSS, post up, and I will post them up
