A couple of questions regarding the ipod interface D3/cdi200

Recommended Posts

Once a track from a selected album starts playing I can't find I a way to get back to the album track list without restarting the album search from the very beginning....is this really the way it is supposed to work? My second question is in regards to the virtual Menu button for the ipod. It briefly changes color when I press it....but it doesn't do anything...One would think this would be implemented to allow better navigation of the ipod menus...any ideas? Thanks!!!

What I've found is that sometimes pressing the Menu button will take you back to the list of songs on the Album.

If I cut the unit off and restart the unit, the Menu button doesn't work anymore.

Once I re-select an album the Menu button works again and will take me back to album list again.

(hope that makes sense, I think I confused myself  )

The iPod controls do need to be worked on.

If I know what songs I want to listen to before I get in the car. I will add them to the "on the go" playlist on the iPod and than navigate to that playlist on the D3.

Everyone is having this problem. Its apparently a bug issue in the interface to the ipod from the D3. I reported this issue to Pio about 2 months ago. I talked to them last week and they said that the menu feature has absolutely no functionality and it does not work at all. I tried to explain to them that it did work for a period of time and then would stop working. They didn't appear to care about what I was saying. Its funny that the function is described in the owners manuel and it is also on their online flash demo on their web site for the D3.

However the support guys dont seem to even know how their own shit works. I also tried to inform them of the white noise that emits from the speakers while the charging function is set to on in the D3 FUNCTION menu that several other users on this forum have reported and they did not even want to listen to what I had to say.

What a joke!!! :x

Thanks for pointing out those details!!! That is exactly how my unit is behaving. I didn't make the connection earlier with the interrupted power causing the menu button to fail. As far as pioneer tech support not knowing their own shit....I second that! When I had trouble importing my phone book from my pda phone I was told by tech support it wouldn't work with pda phones. I just upgraded the bluetooth stack on my phone and made sure the transfer funciton was selected BEFORE I tried to export via BT...then no problem....
