lswift84
Has anyone made a copy of their original NAV cd and used the copy in the drive instead of the original? I don't want mine to get all scratched up in the car just wanna keep a copy and leave the real one at home. is it just burn a copy with Nero and let it work? I would test it but I don't have any blank dvd's on me. (oh yea do they need to be dual layer?)
PaisanNYC
Yes copied backup Nav discs work fine They do need to be dual-layer, unless you start deleting POI files, but that is a mess upon itself. When you start deleting POI files, you actually lose the ability to search for some addresses stored within the POI files. I suggest just going with DL discs
lswift84
thank you for your help i will pick up some DL DVD's, is it as simple as doing a copy disk in nero?
PaisanNYC
I use Alcohol120%, but many people here have used Nero with no problems whatsoever.
necro
If you use Alcohol, be sure you have the latest version. Some of the older ones didn't burn DL media too well. I used UltraISO to make a .iso image and then Nero to burn that image. Probably an extra step that most don't take, but it always works.
Gabe1103
i used nero and works perfect
shmakdawg
does it have to be a DVD-R DL or can it be a DVD+R DL?
VBLUE42
+R DL will work just fine.
