bensonr2 Posted June 20, 2007 Report Share Posted June 20, 2007 I'm sorry to be a typical new guy asking a variation of a question asked daily. I self installed my avic d3 in my 2005 scion xb. I even did the bypass without an issue. However I'm having some minor issues with the speed sensor connection. Using this forum I managed to find the location (I think). By the way I believe it should be the purple/white cable coming out of the black connector behind the glove box, just in case anyone else is wondering. My question is how do I know the avic d3 is getting a reading? In the connection status it still seems to be showing speed pulse as 0. However if I go into 3d calibration it seems to show me a pretty accurate measure of the vehicle's speed. Does this confirm its getting the signal, or would it be able to get that information from the antenna if the vss is not connected? Any help would be appreciated. The reason I was confused is because it shows me an accurate vehicle speed in the 3d calibration screen and I thought I had read on here that it should not show that if its not connected. Anyway thanks for the help. I'm pretty sure I have the right wire, so I'll have to revisit where I tapped into the wire and redo the connection. Quote Link to post Share on other sites

I have another quick wiring question if you don't mind. I'm getting the xm nav traffic unit in a couple days. This is probably a dumb question to ask, but is there any reason I can't connect to the power and ground leads that are going to the head unit? I thought it would be easiest if the ip bus, data and power/ground cables are all going to the same location. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
