scooby77 Posted July 30, 2007 Report Share Posted July 30, 2007 Hi Guys, I got an Avic X1R for 1,5 year in my Subaru WRX MY04, all fine working till: The problems started like a black screen, bad background with vehicle performance, buttons not working and finally he died. Ribbon/flex cable changed for a new one with the GXX1257 kit. Everything installed again, checked all fuses and wires but still nothing, completely dead. jflx60d Posted August 5, 2007 Report Share Posted August 5, 2007 If the cable running to the brain isn't connected snuggly, it won't even fire up. However, if it worked for that long- I'm doubtful that it is a loose connection since that cable clips into place. If you could test the HU with another brain known to be working (or visa versa)- that would sure narrow it down. A local installer might be able to help you with that.
