paysum1
I recently installed a Avic D3 into my 2003 Ford F-150, I live in Edmonton Alberta but travel outside of Edmonton frequantly. While out of town, heading south on a secondary highway my icon on the nav would jump on and off the highway. This seems to only happen while heading either south or north but never east or west. It also seems to happen outside of Edmonton only, never while in Edmonton. I do not have my VSS wire hooked up but the GPS antenna is on the top of my truck in clear view of the sky, I was curious if the VSS could be the issue? if so why would it happen only while heading north or sounth and never east or west? And why only in rural Alberta? Also where can I find the VSS wire on my truck? Thanks for you time Landon
hagow_boy
I work in a 4 year old industrial park in the greater Vancouver region. I live in a 2 year old condo that is in a new area. Both my work and home are not on the current navigational dvd's. It shows that I am driving in a "white" off-road area for both. Perhaps where you are driving through, those areas are relatively new and are not on the current navigation DVD. You will have to wait along with the rest of us for the new DVD's to come out. Others in the forum say they come out every 2 years and it appears to be $250 US for the 2 dvd's.
PaisanNYC
Every year, not every two years
paysum1
The highway I was driving on is in rual Alberta and has been there more than 15 years..The highway shows up on the Nav map and it tracks the same speed as im going just my icon on the map jumps on and off the highway only while I am driving North or South, never East or West. I guess not to many country people have Navigation in the areas I tend to travel.
jace93
while you are driving in this area.. go into your nav settings menu/ hardware selection/ and then check connection status/ How many satillites are you locked on. If its 3 or less then this why you are having trouble.
