thomascb
Hey all, I installed my avic d3, bypassed it using the one sticky on here, and am having an issue. I can BARELY hear sound out of the speakers when the volume is all the way up. It's extremely quiet. This one baffles me? Did I do something wrong? I'm getting sound, it is just basically inaudible. Thanks in advance! caleb
cntrylvr79
Year, make, model of the vehicle would be helpful. As well as any aftermarket equipment installed in it.
thomascb
Hi there, 2007 scion tc. No other audio/electrical equipment installed. Thanks Caleb
hottwhyrd
what sources are quiet? just dvd? or is it all of the speakers. the d3 does have a weak audio processor but ive found its adequate even with subs in the trunk. you can turn up the sla to +4 and also turning on the staging makes it very loud but it also adds alot of bass which door speakers usually cant handle
thomascb
All speakers are quiet- it seems like the right door panel speaker is the loudest...and by loudest I mean the only one I can really hear. All sources- dvd, ipod, radio, etc are inaudbile
cntrylvr79
check you wiring, make sure none of the speaker wires are shorting against each other or ground.
sha
do you have some kind of adapter so you can still use your factory speakers like a bose adapter or something if so some of those have a gain on them
thomascb
Would it have anything to do with the blue wire? I didn't attach that, as I didn't think I needed to. Would there be an amp somewhere in my tC that I don't know about? I got the upgraded (ipod connect) pioneer stereo- what there a built in amp in that?
cntrylvr79
built into the radio.
thomascb
Okay, would it have anything to do with the blue/white wire not being used? Does the amp built into the avic D3 get it's power from this wire? Right now it is not hooked up. After talking to some friends, they seem to think it could be because the sound is not being amplified- it is coming out very faintly only when the volume is up all the way. was that confusing? Any help is greatly appreciated- I know I am a noob boob. caleb
cntrylvr79
U did use a wire harness when u installed the avic right? If so try hooking the blue/white wire from the avic to the blue wire in the harness you used.
thomascb
blue/white to the blue? or blue/white to the blue/white, because there is no blue/white on the harness. There is only a blue white wire coming out of the plug that plugs into the back of the D3.
installthis06
blue/white from d3 to blue in the toyota/skyion harness. Probably won't change anything. Buy a 4 ch amp and new speakers, they're much better than those pioneers that come stock. As you guys can probably notice I hate factory speakers.
thomascb
Hi all, GOOD NEWS! I decided to just run it (45 minutes away) to Circuit City, and within 3 minutes of looking at it together, we figured it out. Turns out the guy that I bought it from did something funky with the harness and that's why it wasn't coming through. He rigged it for his system and didn't care to mention that to me. Thanks, PAL. Oh well. It works, and it's vedy vedy nice. I didn't realized the GPS was going to be so cool. Thanks for everyones input!!! Caleb
