ericft
Hello. JUst wondering if anyone was successful at setting up the bluetooth button on the passat 2006-2007 with the cd-btb200 interface for the Avic d3 and what steering Wheel interface options you used... also, does information about the caller show up on the Multifunction display of the passat? a747ba
Hey im wondering the same thing, im about to put the d3 in my 08 passat.... i know someone on vortex successfully installed on of those parrot bluetooth kits and the phone button on the steering wheel is now functional... Im pretty hopeful that we can get it to work as long as u get the steering wheel controls all wired up correctly
stan
Finally, others with a newer Passat. I received a D3 for Christmas and would like to install myself into an 07 wagon. I have the Metra install stuff, but not clear on how to remove my factory radio. Can anyone help? thanks.
a747ba
stan you have to carefully pry the trim from around the radio, i started buy pulling out the bottom right , it takes some force then it just pops out, almost felt like i broke it but didnt.. DO NOT!!! unplug the air bag light because you will get a CHECK AIRBAG LIGHT , you can take the whole airbag off light assembly off by pressing the 2 clips on the side.. the radio is secure by 4 t25 torx screws, those are the ones that look like stars..The harness is pretty tight back there so it may be a little difficult unplugging the harness... there was a write up on vwvortex.com but i cant seem to find it now, if i find it ill let ya know GL! a747ba
I havent installed it in my passat yet, still waiting for it to come in, we did however install it in my brothers 07 gti and the vss wire was not connected and it works fine...Im going to connect it in mine just for completness sake but to simplify things im going to get the following adapters so i dont have to splice into the car.. This should all be plug and play and allow me to keep my SWC's hopefully even get that damn phone button programmed..175$ for all 3 http://enfigcarstereo.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/PAC_C2R_VW.html http://enfigcarstereo.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/PAC_SWI_CAN.html http://enfigcarstereo.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/PAC_SWI_PS.html
stan
a747ba I really appreciate your help. I just returned my Metra harness and ordered the Enfig (shipped 3 day was about $93). I will let you know how things go when I receive the parts. Thanks again.
stan
Finally got all the parts and self installed my D3 with BT, XM, and IPOD. Getting it all stuffed in was difficult but the result was great. I was able to connect my wife's Razor phone and my XV6700. Thanks for the input from various members.
