hawkeye680
I ran a search and couldn't find anything on this. Maybe I didn't have the right word combo or whatever so if somebody could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. When I turn my truck off, the radio will just scan through my presets non stop. So when I turn my truck back on, it will be on a different preset. Why is it doing this? What is the purpose? Sounds petty I know but it is kind of a pain. Thanks for your help. It is installed in a NBS 2007 Chevy 2500.
hottwhyrd
youve probly got steering wheel controls right? my guess is your interface is bad or needs reprogramed
installermarc
i agree. sounds like a problem with the sterring wheel control interface, or even a power problem. have your installer check for good acc. power on the swi, good ground, and a good change in voltage on the control wire when you press a button on the steering wheel. you could even have him unplug the swi from the d3 to see if the problem goes away. if it does, bingo. jimmy303
Make sure the power for the steering wheel control interface is tapped at the same place as the head unit's accessory wire. If the radio is powered up while the SWI-PS is not, this can happen.
jimmy303
That's the most common problem, also double-check your install and make sure you have cut the brown loop wire.
hawkeye680
Wow, thanks for all the replies. I do have the steering wheel control adapter. And that does make sense, because I could never get it programmed. It's like it was not seeing anything coming from the steering wheel buttons when we tried to program it.We left the next day after my install and I didn't have time to troubleshoot it, so I just bundled it up and tucked it under the dash for later. I will try to check it tonight. Again, thank you guys very much for all the help, especially since I just noticed I posted it in the wrong section.

jimmy303
Just make sure the SWI-PS and the AVIC have the same accessory power tap.
