black_sedan
When my ipod is connected to the D3, is the screen on the ipod supposed to be locked and showing "Pioneer"? Can I scroll through songs with my ipod instead of the navi unit?
HiFiSi
The whole reason for hooking it up to the D3 is to use the controls on the head unit to operate the Ipod. So why would you hook it up that way and use the iPod controls? Seems like it kind of defeats the purpose. Anyway, it probably does that because the iPod isn't programmed to be able to operate on 2 different sets of controls at the same time? Just a guess.
jimmy303
Yes, that is normal.
steve310
It is normal, and the iPod interface is actually pretty user friendly. To help out a LOT i did this from the iPod section: I did something very similar. For the GENRES category (Which i almost never use), I put the Letters there A, B, C, D, ... , Z, # Therefore, under A you have your Artists that begin with A, etc... Therefore, I can look for Albums AND Artists by letter. It makes going through artists a whole lot easier if you have a lot of them. You can select music from the iPod though. Just switch it to video mode on the D3. This will turn the screen on the D3 plain black, but let you use your iPod. You can always just switch to the map to have something on the screen.
