Need to have my Z2 repaired.

Hello all. I've been having the common problem with my Z2 (mfg month march 07) hang on the startup screen EVEN on a cold start on a 55 deg morning.

 

I called Pioneed tech suppourt and was appauled by their return process. The lady told me to just put the unit in a box with the original sales reciept, a description of the problem, and my return address. There is NO case number or anything. WHAT?? This seems like a problem waiting to happen, with no case number I can't be sure that I'm even going to get it back. How will they even know if they've worked on it before and I'm still having a problem when I get it back?

 

Has anyone returned their unit? How was your experience and what was the process like?

I'm not sure this is what you are looking for but I had an N1 that broke down so I called Pioneer and was told basically the same thing. Only difference was that I had to pay $200 to get mine fixed because it was out of warranty by that time. I felt the same way you did but it all worked out fine on my end. Hope this helps. BTW, I would make a copy of the receipt just to be safe.
