PAC SWI-PS install in 2007 NBS Chevy Silverado 2500 HD CC

Recommended Posts

What problems?

The truck has the retained accessory power, and when I shut it off, if it is on the radio mode it scans through my presets over and over very randomly. If it is on DVD then it will skip back and forth between scenes. Sitting at my sons football practice the other day I got aggravated with it and pulled everything loose. It is still connected by the cable going into the unit but sitting on my trans hump.

sounds like you need to connect the red wire of the swi box to the same red wire your radio is on. sounds like it is loosing power before the radio.

Thanks Marc- one more question- do you know what wire I connect to from the steering wheel controls? It is like it was never seeing the inputs from the buttons.

Thank you guys again for your help.

Well, I think I have everything hooked in correctly. I definitely can get it into program mode and it behaves correctly when I shut down- it no longer makes it jump around the channels like it was doing before.

However, I can't get it to finish programming. It will accept three buttons, then flash like it is done with the setup. So I can't finish with all my buttons and after it finishes, nothing works on the SWC. I am using program "1". This is really frustrating.

Thanks for any more help.

Ok, I'll ask. I suppose you did read the pac swi website for your specific vehicle? Might check over it again to make sure you followed the steps exactly as listed. If during the programming something goofs, you have to start the programming over from start.

As the other post mentioned, you did cut the brown wire?

After verifying all of my wiring, and calling PAC, they suggested I call Crutchfield for a replacement. Got the replacement last week, and put it in yesterday. Worked immediately and I was able to successfully program all of my buttons.

Thank you guys for all of your help.

Now all I have left to do is to install the overhead flip down screen. Uggh, scary.
