themajesticking
Haven't seen this problem yet.....I'm getting terrible noise intermittently on my screen like it's scrambled. Best way to describe is like a scrambled cable channel. It stays like that sometimes for the first 1 or 2 mins after I start my car then it straightens itself out and is fine. Another problem I have is that the color is off sometimes. It seems like it does it with temperature changes.(i could just be imagining) What happens is the screen will have a deep yellow tint or sometimes it will have a deep purple tint. I have tried everything I could imagine on the software level. Is something loose? Please help. Thanks in advance. AVIC-N2
themajesticking
hello? (echo).......
PaisanNYC
sounds like a bad flex cable that connects to the monitor. Did you get the free recall replacement yet?
themajesticking
I think you're right. Now if I leave it tilted a little further back the problem isn't as frequent. It was a refurb from ebay so I doubt they will do any warranty work. The bezel says N1 when the internals are n2. So yeah. I doubt it.
themajesticking
How hard is it to replace the flex cable myself? I've taken the unit apart before. I would try a factory replacement but it's a refurb and it looks like it may have been put together with N1 and N2 parts though it has N2 internals. Here are some pics of the problem. PaisanNYC
unfortunately since the recall began, Pioneer doesnt sell the flex cable to the public anymore like they used to.
themajesticking
So I'm screwed?
themajesticking
Do you think they will still repair it even though it's a refurb? The problem has gotten worse. Now it flips up and most of the time the screen is totally black and all I loose all controls and have to pop the faceplate off to get control back.
Eddywill
I have seen the ribbon cable on eBay if you want to take it to a tech and see if Pioneer will reimburse you! Just a thought.
