pring51
so i got the new ipod nano and i love it because i thought that the N4 needed the newest version. well i got the cd-i200 and plugged in everything and it doesn't work. the N4 reads "Ready" and no on screen buttons control anything. i would think that the Ipod would read "Pioneer" when plugged in. i called Pioneer and they said that the cable must be bad. well i got a brand new one and that one doesn't work either so that rules out the cable. oh and yes the Ipod is as up to date as it can be. i have also tried several other Ipods, including, classic (5.5), older nanos too. any ideas would be great, i really want to listen to my ipod through the stereo. whtcrxghst
Have you tried your ipod on another n4/cdi200 combo? That will tell you if the N4 is bad

pring51
I was wondering, there have been some rumors about the firmware of the new ipods not being compatible to work with the n4. any udates from apple or anyone get answers from them?
whtcrxghst
Ya, Apple screwed everyone and now require a chip to get the new nanos, classics, touch to output video. The only accessories that have that chip are authentic apple ones. There are quite a few threads on here discussing it
pring51
so are there any cables that i can get with this chip to make my ipod work with my N4?
whtcrxghst
Yes, but it won't charge the ipod and you will have to do all controls from the ipod itself http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/W ... A#overview
pring51
darn i was hoping someone had come up with a cable finally to allow the N4 control the Ipod
pring51
So can anyone confirm what IPods do work with full compatibility with the N4 as it was intended to do. it doesn't matter, old or new IPods.
whtcrxghst
They all work fine except for the 6th (latest) generation So can anyone confirm what IPods do work with full compatibility with the N4 as it was intended to do. it doesn't matter, old or new IPods. pring51
6th generation? i thought the highest generation was the 5th?
whtcrxghst
Nope. Classics, touches, and iphone are 6th. New nano suffers from the same video problem
