wbstein
Recently my avic N2 was stolen from my vehicle. They left all the cables. I bought an N3 and plugged it in. No signal - black screen. I assumed the N3 did not work with the N2 Brain. Then I bought an N3 brain. Plugged everything in. Blank screen. No video, audio, or controls whatsoever. But, the cd eject works. Please advise. Thank you.
whtcrxghst
Are you sure the N3 worked when you bought it?
wbstein
of course not. looking at the problems here what is the solution?
whtcrxghst
Get a monitor you are sure works and try that

whtcrxghst
Not sure what you expected...You have a screen that sounds like its defective. N1-3 series headunits and brains are interchangable which I assume you knew from reading this forum. Would be a lot easier to pinpoint if you bought a screen that you knew worked or not
mazda_3
i had the same problem with my n2 wheni had it only happened when i reinstalled it. Try disconecting the handbrake wire (assuming it is bypassed) i followed these steps otherwise mine did not work 1)plug in the main harness (black connector) 2)plug in data link connector (going to brain) 3)plug in the rca preout connector 4)turn on key let unit startup 5)reconnect the parking brake cable that used to work for me and i always had to follow that sequence. Sounds stupid but it did work good luck Dan
