enigmic
The search feature is a great tool, just like me... (pause for effect) But I have two questions... so far I havent been able to find a wiring harness for the car (pics would be helpful BEFORE I take the bezel off) And I am planning on getting the NAV bezel from MOPAR. Is there any other kit or bracket that I will need to securely install this in the dash? Or will it fit with the supplied factory NAV/RER bracket?
hottwhyrd
you should still need a dash kit. check metraonline.com for info. and youll need a typical crysler CAN_BUS adapter i use peripheral ones but i definetly cant recomend them, not saying they suck but i have had problems. youll also need an antenna adapter metra model number 40-cr10. good luck. kota_sounds
you can use the can-bus adapter or be a cheapa$$ and just catch acc. off the cig lighter...did it in my 06kota and havnt ever had any problems but the canbus adapter is the "correct way"
cntrylvr79
canbus also givees you a useable vss, illumination, and reverse leads right at the radio.
enigmic
OK, so forgive me here, that's what this forum is for anyway... Does the car already have a CANBUS interface? How would I integrate the AVIC to the system?
cntrylvr79
The cars electronics communicate to each other through a system called canbus. An interface like the pac c2r-chy talk to the canbus system in the vehicle and translate info from that to something an aftermarket radio can understand.
