  1. Thanks guys. Phone isn't rooted yet, so no unchained. I'll try waze.
  2. Hello all, I have a new NEX8100 running 1.03. I installed AppRadio on my Samsung S5, and got the cable to support MHL. AppRadio is working, and I can get various apps to run through it, including google maps. But when I use google navigation, the Google Maps via AppRadio is just a generic map. It's not the navigation. For example if I use voice to say "Navigate to Starbucks", the phone will display the driving directions. But the Google app via AppRadio is just a generic map of the area. Am I missing something? Thanks!
  3. I used the bypass on the 8100, worked nicely. My parking break is grounded, so I occasionally do get a message about the parking break being mis-wired. But video while driving still works (no warning messages)
  4. Hey aforlano, thanks for the reply. But I didn't mean Android Auto. When I use Android Auto (bluetooth and USB) everything works fine. But I don't really like the android auto interface, so I switched my settings back to bluetooth only (disabled android auto), and I'm seeing how much I can use the native Pioneer system. I can still create/send text messages. But the native system doesn't seem to read texts to me, and I expected it would. Even my older factory system did that. And when I use voice to "navigate to" it uses google maps. Can I use voice to control the built in Pioneer
  5. Thanks for sharing. I just bought my 8100 without being aware of this issue, so I've been reading up. I was looking for an update...so at least this is something!
  6. I have an 8100 running 1.03, with a Galaxy S5 phone. Android Auto is up and working nicely. When Android Auto is connected (via USB), I can use my voice button to enter navigation destinations, send text messages. The Android Auto interface also displays a popup for new incoming text messages, and can read them. However, when I'm connected Bluetooth only, I seem to lose some features that I expected I would still have. With Bluetooth only, I can still dictate/send text messages. But when I receive a message, I get the notifcation sound, but can't find a way to have the system read the
  7. Thanks for the replies. I turned it back on to confirm my settings. I made some progress -- the problem was Reverse Gear Setting. I had it set to Ground. Changing it to Battery solved the problem when the radio turns on. So my only problem now is that if I shift into reverse, and the camera comes on, then I shift into drive, I need to press Exit. Is that normal? My factory unit would exit the camera when I shifted into drive.
  8. I've got 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which had a MyGig factory backup camera. I recently switched to the 8100, and used the idataLink Maestro ADS-MRR + HRN-RR-CH1 + HRN-AV-CH1 Everything is working nicely, except the backup camera. When I turn the car on, the 8100 boots, and immediately goes into backup camera mode (while I'm still in park). Although it's just a black screen, since my factory camera has no power unless Im in reverse. At this point I need to hold down the MAP button to exit the camera. When I do shift into reverse, the camera comes on, and I can see fine. But when
