  1. This problem with lockups using large numbers of MP3s on USB or SD media is ongoing. I ran into this problem 9 months ago when I first bought my X910BT and spent a lot of time on these forums researching it. (see http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=27399#p189615) Long story short, never found a solution. My best guess is that this is a problem in the base OS with memory or file handling when using external media, and not enough people are complaining to get it fixed. Most of the people on the forums are focused on the navigation system and interface which is fun stuff and
  2. UPDATE: Mid August I got the new x910BT unit with 3.0 firmware and the song cutoff is cured. The remianing problem is that USB/SD MP3 support for more than about 600 files is very unreliable. At 1200 songs it takes 5 minutes to boot up teh SD card, then hangs the unit between songs, especially in random play mode. I'm hoping the Pioneer or MS folks read these forums and work to fix this problem. An expensive unit like this should handle 50k MP3s just fine.
  3. I got an F90BT in June and returned it after your problem and another with USB songs being cutoff toward the end on v2.0 made the unit unusable for me. I replaced it with an X910BT and v3 SW which fixed the MP3 songs being cutoff, but not the slow boot up and other problems with a lot of songs. The Pioneer manual quotes that both the SD card and USB are limited to 8 gig in the X910BT. But I also find that both a thumbdrive and a SD card with more than around 600 songs is a real problem. The deck will load them slowly like you noted, then begin playing them, but after a song or two it
  4. I am for the most part very happy with my new AVIC X910BT. But I have a couple feature requests for those out there with the knowledge to work them: 1) Tone controls: Now I understand why cars go by with the bass booming! Try playing a Beatles song and then a song from a recent CD release. Sonic quality is way different. And the EQ controls with multiple screen touches required is a wreck waiting to happen. We need a simple tone control that is "EASY" to use while driving. Maybe allow the volume knob to control the bass and treble like the old stereos had. With today's subwoofers an
  5. I'm a new F90BT owner who's library must be half LAME! About 50% of my MP3s get cut off when played via USB or SD card in this unit. I went to the store where I bought it and tried it in an AVIC-F700BT and another f90BT on display and both cut off on the same songs. Looks like a design flaw or shared SW bug. Interesting to see that one of the Pioneer non-NAV models plays the songs OK off a USB thmb drive. Must not use the same SW or design. Sad to see that the MS software in an expensive unit like this would have such a problem and not get fixed. makes it unusable for me. I retur
