  1. Hey Guys, I recently switched trucks & moved my D3 but I have no idea where the original navi discs are. Can I just get the newest version and be good to go, or do I need to do an upgrade first? Thanks!!
  2. So it will accept the disc again? Right now it will do nothing. Well earlier, too pissed to even look at the thing. Thanks for the Help!!!
  3. Just installed my new Avic D3, did not get too far w/ it. Instaled the east coast disc fine. For some reason it showed I was in California Still had the navi ant unplugged so maybe that is why. Anyways to my problem.... I turnned the unit back on and recieved the Please Insert Appropriate Disc message. Total BS!!! I have not even played w/ it yet. No security code set yet either. Any ideas? I'm so pissed, I did search but only found more questions....
  4. Holy Siht!!!! I love her!!!! Those will be on my D3!!! I just wish she wasn't such a prude, Lol
  5. So is there a way to create custom backgrounds for the D3? Just bought one, doing a custom install in my Ram
  6. Well I finally had time to tear everything apart today. I grounded my camera to the ground wire in the 6pin trailer harness. As it turns out that wire drops the ground out when Reverse is engaged!! So when I was connected to the video input it was still grounded,(viewing in park, drive etc) as I had it in back up form which was the sole purpose I would loose the ground when shifting into rev. I have a new separate grd. now and I am in business! Just posting my answer in case anyone else makes a dumb mistake like I did! Lol
  7. It has some cool ones on it already, even a slot for a pc card, not sure if there is any way to add any backgrounds or pics. I know it's kind of a old school unit, but that's what I have ;D
  8. correct, when I switch back and forth from video input and backup cam input, I change nothing else! So I would say the cam is fine since it works perfectly in AV. The backup cam input works perfect too with a separate (short) RCA connected to the video out! This is silly!!! Lol
  9. well it has battery or grd. It is set to battery. Having the cam hot wired shouldn't be the problem right?
  10. Well, did the test today, dvd plays perfectly thru the backup cam input (brown) And the cam still works well when plugged into the video input (yellow) When the cam is plugged into the backup cam input it only shows the video for a split second as I shift out of reverse into neutral. I am at a loss!!! I searched every camera thread on here with no luck.... Any other ideas? Thanks a bunch! Greg
  11. Will do, tomorrow! Obviously I'm still hoping I did something wrong, or at least an easy fix! Thanks, Greg
  12. very strange, I certainly never thought it would be so hard to connect to a back up camera!! Any suggestions on testing the input? Thanks for all your help!
  13. yes but I still have no view in reverse, just a black screen with the message
  14. well right now it is hot all the time, I want to get the bugs worked out before I mount it and tidey all up.
  15. Alright, you were correct on the rca jack. Now that that is corrected my problem still exists!!! Even more so now, the same message when I shift in rev, but now in my AV mode, (which is what I meant above when I said AUX channel) my video flashes then dissapears. Any other ideas? I even reset the power to the cam thinking it might help. Will I need to wire in a toggle to view video when not in reverse?
