  1. Yea that is likely going to happen in the near future to avoid further embarrassment.
  2. make sure in the settings you have the aux set to ipod. I suggest this only because I accidentally changed the source to something else and couldnt figure out what was going on.
  3. I was told by an installer to use this wire last week but unfortunately it does not work. Will search for a good location to tap the abs speed sensor at some point.
  4. HU security is what I was talking about. Thanks to you I realized I didnt need a 16 letter password and voila, I have access again. Will be storing that password so this doesnt happen again.
  5. Ok having a bit of an issue after moving my z110 to my wife's car. it is asking for a password. I have tried every thing for a password and no luck. you can read more details in my other thread. (sorry for duplicate just want this to work for our trip on friday) http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/37133-z110-w-2012-maps-password-required-after-battery-disconnect/ if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.
  6. couldnt sleep, had to try reinstalling the upgrade. Wont do anything until I put a password in. I can put the SD card in but it wont read it without the password first.
  7. I discovered I can insert a SD card so I will try to reprogram with the 2012 maps again tomorrow. Hopefully all goes well. input from others is still welcome though.
  8. Moved my z110 to my wife's car today, unit sat powerless for about 2 weeks. everything hooked up and upon power up the unit is requiring a password. I have tried "passwordpassword" several times with no luck. also tried putting in 16 1's, or 0's, 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 1 2 3 4 5 6, still no luck. I purchased the 2010 upgrade before I knew about this site and tried the password from that but that didnt work either. also, I did the 2011 upgrade via this site too. can anyone help? leaving on a trip friday afternoon, would really like this to work. Mike as a side not
  9. since ford got rid of the actual VSS I opted to tap the output shaft speed sensor wire coming from the power train control module. Now I get a low voltage read from that wire but it doesnt change very much at all as vehicle speed picks up. will this wire work for the VSS or should I try and track down the speed sensor coming from one of the ABS units? I am only using it because the metra axxess steering wheel control module mentions tapping the VSS. thanks Mike
  10. You need to add either this, http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/Accessories/Satellite-and-HD-Radio/GEX-P920XM, or this, http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/Accessories/Satellite-and-HD-Radio/CD-SB10 in order to control SAT radio.
  11. I have to ask only because I did this by mistake myself, did you unzip the torrent or just place it onto the card immediatly after downloading? I was in a hurry and threw it on at first which gets you no where.
  12. that may have been for the not so easy testmode version. glad it all worked out for you.
  13. you have someting wrong on your card. That screen should not come up. I just updated mine this afternoon following the steps in post 1 to a T and everything worked without a hitch. Go back and try again. remember, you only need one card and the card only needs Cardinfo.cif, Update folder, and firmware folder... nothing else. just use the correct version of the cardinfo.cif (since it appears you are using a z110) and replace the verinfo.dat with the updated version (this can be found in the update folder) all you need is in post 1 and I can understand your frustration, I
  14. Well I feel silly. Your remark about the av1 settings got me thinking about the settings section. I had inadvertently turned my av1 setting to off while messing around with things months ago. Problem solved and i will wear my dunce cap for the next day or so.
