And ya know, you could've read the bold Stickies at the top of this section, saved two pages of worthless posts, and had your deck bypassed two days ago. So nobody is blameless here. Bypass your deck the way that worked for thousands and be grateful for the members that put that information here (and even those who put it in the stickies that nobody bothers to read)

haha, its easy to talk like that behind a screen...i already apologized to u for callin u a jerkoff and ur gonna pull that shit? ya know, all this time spent replying and givin retarded answers and u coulda jus said bluetooth update before..

valid point...but theres so many different posts of the same thing, hows some1 thats new at this gonna kno which is which? some say by a new hard drive and update it, some say connect to ur computer and do whatever, some say bluetooth update from smmtech. so can u rly blame me for tryin to find 1 solid answer?

I didn't say I accepted your apology. But you're right, I should've said "bluetooth update".... OH WAIT!

well... updating with the bluetooth and doing the 2-wire seems a lot easier than doing additional testing to fuck with the parking brake.

You go on to say...

regardless if i "didnt search" which i did, or if its been answered numerous times, people will still ask.
so can u rly blame me for tryin to find 1 solid answer?

And if you'd searched, you would've found we told them to search too  Trying to get the answer is one thing....trying to get it spoon-fed moreso than the hard work of the veterans on the board already did by posting it in stickies, that's a line that crossing gets you a "blow me".

The stickie is called Updated Bypass Instructions for the Avic Z1 and thats exactly what it is. One click of that and a read of FAQ on the first post would've done the job quite well.

and if you read what i said, ud see that i did search and i got posts mostly for the z2 and 3. and if thats how you feel, no one said you among everyone else had to respond, but you started this hostility with your sarcasm. so CaptainInsaneO, and whtcrxghst, thank you for your help and being more understanding. as for hyperite, if you cant handle answering a simple question, or simply providing a link to the right thread without actin like a jerk about it, then maybe you should sell your info on ebay.

hey wait... i actually DID give you the answer...

and like we said... straightforward answer without you trying your darndest to find it first won't happen. I only posted it because I dislike misinformation more than I dislike you (which grows with every post).

yeh. u said updating the bluetooth and the 2 wire bypass would do it. but what update? it took over a page to get the link for it. and u dont know how much i searched. ive been on this site for a couple months looking for it before i joined to send the post cuz i already know that answering a question thats already been answered is annoying. and like i said i found 3 different ways...flashing ur lights, doing something with uploading it on the computer, and downloading whatever programs onto a cdr and runnin them thru the z. i also said i wasnt computer skilled enough for one of the methods and the reason i even suggested the parking brake wire in the way beginning was to avoid having to flash my lights everytime i turned the car on. so all i wanted was the link for the update needed, so thank you for the link a page later and dislike me all u want i really could care less, im never gonna meet you in my life.

well i have my Z1 installed. had it in for about 3 days. i was able to drive around while a movie was playing. but then i hooked up my GPS antenna in and now it wont let me view videos while driving.. is this due to the GPS antenna sensing the vehicle moving?

Posted May 30, 2008 · 06:23 UTC#34

Its because the GPS and internal gyro sense you moving. Follow the bypass instructions in the sticky somewhere at the top of the page

so how was it tht when i drove with the parking brake one click up (still engaged) the gps or gyro didnt sense me moving? the vehicle dynamics works and it didnt lock me out

Posted May 30, 2008 · 13:51 UTC#36

try the bluetooth update hyperite posted...if you go backwards in this thread, he already posted the link for the file u needa download and he explained how to do it.

but whtcrxghst, any idea on y my avic doesnt sense me moving but the vehicle dynamics works?

Posted May 30, 2008 · 16:15 UTC#38

Is it fully calibrated yet?

Posted May 30, 2008 · 16:19 UTC#39
Is it fully calibrated yet?

im not really sure. all i kno is when i drove wit the parking brake one click up (i currently have the wire to the brake), it didnt pick up any motion, but the speedometer on the avic was working fine. so it knew that i was moving, just didnt lock me out

Posted May 30, 2008 · 18:57 UTC#40

Give it 500 miles, will lockout by then at about 5 mph if you haven't moved the pin

Don't sweat the two wire bypass either. I was a little worried I'd mess something up when I did mine and I had no problems. My forte is computers, not cars so that's why I was worried about it. But it's ultra simple as long as you follow directions.

i gotcha man, see im the complete opposite. aside from hacking programs and downloading music im comuter illiterate. but i can rewire an entire car blindfolded...and ive actually done the 2 wire bypass, a friend of myne has the D3, which is the same bypassing method. took me all of 20 minutes start to finish to install and bypass his unit
