europe uses a different RF spectrum for radio broadcasts.

 

i really can't understand why the firmware wouldn't be universal.

Well, I received the F900BT unit last Saturday,

and it's marked with a blue DOT, as described by Pioneer.

it is version 1.001500, and should be the new version,

I'm from Denmark, Europe.

so guess that it's a matter of days before they update there webpage..

although:

Startup, slow..

Apple iPod Classic 160Gb (20Gigs used)

seems to work flawless.

Video from SD card, not positive, made the unit halt.

Navigation, this is my first go with Pioneer Navi, but I am not impressed..

BlueTooth handsfree, needs to shout at the mic, using HTC touch Diamond..

off-Topic: doesn't the F900BT support voice commands..???

if yes, how do they work...

can't really figure it out.. (and the F90BT is not available in Denmark (or Europe I would believe..)

Well, I've tried that, but no screen pops up,

well, Pioneer.eu says that there is

Voice Guidance = Yes

so guess that voice commands is supported.

do I need to do anything special for it to work.?

only thing I've done is, connect mic, gps, ISO plug, and grounded the parking brake signal..

everything else is not connected for now..

could that be the problem..?

and maybe this should be in another topic, so that I'm not stealing this topic..

no, if the 700bt has it the 900bt deffinitly does. i kno it takes a few tries unless uve been driving for a few minutes. play aroundwith it and see wha you get, press it, hold it in a second, etc

It doesnt work from the menu or settings screen (which is bad design IMO - it should ALWAYS work).

It should work from the NAV or music playback screens.

See, this is why there is a US patch and the European patch is separate.

Voice Command is US ONLY. The european models do NOT have it.

Voice Guidance means, you will hear a voice giving you directions while navigating...

Has anyone heard any Re-Release Dates for the units?

I'm guessing they should have them (the ETA) since the firmware is complete now.

Hi, I´ve just seen that Pioneer Europe has released the AVIC F series update, that is the link:

I dunno if it fix the same issues than US version, I hope.. =;D
