Hey HiFi, I used Magic ISO, slowest speed. The only difference from Allsounds instructions was that I used winzip not winrar to extract. I wouldn't expect that to be the issue. When I put the disk in my comp it shows 7.9 gig and files. I take it you had no issues?

Posted Sep 06, 2008 · 02:43 UTC#127

Well, I guess you could say I had no issues in the sense that I never tried to burn a copy because i don't have a D-series radio which kind of excludes me from needing this disk.

Thank you inkfinkc and allsound.

Mine is also update the D3.

I had "can not burn over 300MB with trial version" error in magic ISO.

But Magic ISO has decompress UFI option so I can convert to ISO and used ImageBurn to burn it.

Seems working.

I also burned using Magic ISO and I got a disk error I then tried again using Roxio and it worked!

I'm an EASTERN person so I wasn't planning on using this disc per-say, but now with the possibility of a firmware update; I guess I have a question. If you use this and it updates your firmware, can you stick your M70 Eastern disc in? Will it work, etc.

Don't want to risk it in case the 80-Eastern disc doesn't materialize for a while...

EAST COAST - DO NOT UPDATE

If you update the AVIC-D3 with the west 80 disc, you will NOT be able to use your 70 east disc for navigation. You will see the following screen.

i used some best buy dynex brand dl dvds...i work there so its dirt cheap. it worked on my friends d3 as i dont have one anymore. it worked using power2 go burner program.

Posted Sep 06, 2008 · 05:16 UTC#134

And lets say I use Roxio 9 to burn this, would I select Data and then Data Disc???

Posted Sep 06, 2008 · 05:31 UTC#135

I've tried burning with Magic ISO...tried decompressing and burning with ImgBurn...each time gave me the "This is not the appropriate disk..." message. Not sure what the deal is. :(

Posted Sep 06, 2008 · 05:47 UTC#136

Thanks romney good to know, and man was that close, cause I almost did it earlier.

To infinkc, I know you don't have the Eastern disc, but more out of curiosity, shouldn't have your N5 come with both discs, (I thought both discs were always a package deal?)

To those that have updated and have an iPhone, in the incredibly unlikely case, can anyone confirm if maybe Pioneer added PULL contacts support, (cause if they did I'm packing up the house and moving to the west coast :-P )

K...who can I pm to have 1 made for me?..burner died on me :(

Posted Sep 06, 2008 · 07:38 UTC#139

I don't think that is correct. The 2007 disk (CNDV-70MTP) is 7.6 Gigs and I burned it to a DL DVD for my avic d1 and it worked fine.

Unfortunately, the CD/DVD drives in the AVIC-D1 & AVIC-D2 do not support DVD Dual Layer discs.

They do. Everything that supports DVD supports reading dual-layer.

Thanks infinkc and allsounds for making this available! I'm DLing it now, although estimated time to finish says 1-week and 3-days.

Wow, I don't know how the speeds are so slow, I'm seeding at 450kb/s, and already have a 6.7 upload ratio. There are 25 seeds out there also with only 15 leechers now. remember to open up your upload speeds to get the fastest download speeds. Thanx again for the back up.

Posted Sep 06, 2008 · 11:33 UTC#142

ya slow for me too. many times with the download speed being slower than upload. mine finishes in an hour at this rate, and i will keep seeding afterwards to boost the speeds a bit.

Posted Sep 06, 2008 · 12:53 UTC#143

Took a few hours to dload for me, seeding for you guys right now. Now I just need the East disk, since west isn't my area.

Posted Sep 06, 2008 · 12:55 UTC#144

I capped my upload speed while I am home since when uploading at full speed basically makes browsing impossible. I'm still uploading, but just not at full speed, when I leave today and when I sleep tonight I'll boost it back up.

Try to verify your disk against avic80 file.

If fail set 1x and burn it again.

If verify pass then you have compatibility issue.

If you burned avic-70 backup successfully, use that burning soft and burner combination.

Hit or Miss but general idea to increase compatibility.

1.Use newer burner.

2.Update to latest burner firmware and burning soft.

3.Set book type to DVD-ROM(default for most of supported newer burner)

4.Use +R disk.

I used Sony burner become Optiak burner after firmware update, latest ImgBurn and Memorex dvd+r dl and successfully backed up avic-70 two month ago and use same setup this time and worked again.

Posted Sep 06, 2008 · 13:50 UTC#146

I downloaded it and burned a disc. I haven't tried it yet, but will soon.

I'm seeding it too to do my part.

Thanks guys for putting this up and If anyone finds an east disk out there let us know and put it up.

Posted Sep 06, 2008 · 14:15 UTC#147

thanks again for the disk. I am downloading VERY slowly and I will seed once it is finished..i have a decent connection 512up and 3mb down but the download is very very slow...like 10-12kbs slow...ouch!

Posted Sep 06, 2008 · 15:16 UTC#148

Thanks. works perfect. still seeding.

Burned onto i think memorex dual layer +R i got from target in a 3 pack.

Posted Sep 06, 2008 · 15:48 UTC#149

Romney - D1 supports dual layer. Works just fine with my 70mtp backup. I'm sure it's something I'm doing (or not doing)...but 4 DL disks later and I still don't know what it is.

HT2 - I've verified the back up disk to the file and it comes back 100% I'm using Optiarc AD-7190a (Sony optical drive).

So here's what I've done...

DLed back up file of 80mp. Unpacked with Winzip, used output .UIF file with Magic ISO to write data to Memorex DL DVD+R. No joy.

Decompressed .UIF file to output full .ISO file. Used ImgBurn to try and create back up. Same result.

Can anyone out there confirm updating their D1 with this file??

Thanks to everyone who's responded.
