Well, I paid the $10 at phantomalert.com, but I now have all the coordinates to every speed trap in the US, and now I'm sharing it with the rest of you :D

That's a .csv file of the waypoints which is what the POI Creator requires, but when i tried loading it, it was very unorganized...If anyone can come up with an organized way to upload them to Avic Feeds, that'd be awesome.

Here's a normal list too if anyone is interested.

sweet dawg

SO how do you want this list organized? I can probably pass it through a perl parser, but not entirely sure what kind or order you want

Most all the sites that offer these POI's are pay of some amount. This one is a 5 dollar donation a month and you only pay when you want to get an update. Includes speed and red light cams. Attached are the files I downloaded from them a couple of months ago.

However Feeds would take it. I uploaded the .csv file and it just put that enitre file into the first coordinate line, so I have no idea how to make the right changes so that the unit will reconize every one.

CatchMeIfYouCan631, how can I import your waypoints into the AVIC feeds software? The file is .xlt (not readable by software) and when I convert it into .csv the AVIC feed software says that the file is unreadable.

Nice, thanks for that file.

could you put up a screen shot of what this looks like in your navi? I'd like to know what it does before uploading it. :)

Thanks for the .zip, but that .csv is set up exactly liek the one I provided, it ca't just be loaded into feeds. At least it didn't for me

Have you used your file in Avic feeds yet?

Posted Aug 28, 2008 · 14:59 UTC#12

Disregard my previous message, for some reason my Mac messed up the file extension but it worked on my windows machine. I'm having the same problem with the points tho, they all show up in the first row.

EDIT: I meant to say that when I downloaded the file on my mac and transferred the file to my windows machine it changed the file extension which made it unreadable to the avic feeds software on my windows machine.

Im trying to figure out your file with avic feeds now, I got mine to work, although it did take some trial and error.

pwnin o'brien: awesome glad you were abke to get it

VBlue42: As of now I havent, but I'm trying something right now and I'll post results when it's done

Yea thats what im seeing. From what I gathered last night messing around with avic feeds, you have to select the letters to the side that correspond to the info associated with those letters at the top. But you only get up to 5 I think to do that at the right.

Posted Aug 28, 2008 · 15:06 UTC#16

From what I can tell It wont work if you cant select all of the letters from above on the column to the right. However I just figured all this out last night so there could be another way for yours to work.

Posted Aug 28, 2008 · 15:07 UTC#17

Well, I got them all to work but 20,000 exceeds the maximum number of POI's, anyone know the number allowed?

Posted Aug 28, 2008 · 15:08 UTC#18

Disregard that message, it didnt have a Bering on my conversions.

Posted Aug 28, 2008 · 15:10 UTC#19

There doesn't seem to be any info or consistent limit on the maximum number either. Also, the google maps feature doesn't work.

Posted Aug 28, 2008 · 15:16 UTC#20

Limit is 300 coordinates....that's bullshit.

Posted Aug 28, 2008 · 15:18 UTC#21

Yea this application is just as much garbage as the F series os. I was able to get all of my POI's to convert though after hours of trail and error.

Posted Aug 28, 2008 · 15:21 UTC#22

how many POI's did you have? So am I to understand we got these awesome lists of speed traps and we cant use em!?

Posted Aug 28, 2008 · 15:22 UTC#23

Nope!!! on second thought, Max 300, fucking Pioneer. :x

Posted Aug 28, 2008 · 15:23 UTC#24

Looks that way. Bastards!!

Posted Aug 28, 2008 · 15:25 UTC#25

goddamnit, why put a fricken limit on how many POI's you can add!!! If they're read off your SD card, who cares if you have 20,000 or so!!!

Damnit this was more of a disappoitment to me than when the unit first came out. I'm gonna go cry in the corner now, be back later.
