I dont think I did it incorrectly. I just went into the Data.zip file and changed the numbers in the project_config folder. Then it didnt want to save it in that folder so I saved that particular file to my desktop. After that, I found the file in my desktop and simply tranfered it to the file in project_config folder and deleted the existing one. Let me know if I did it incorrectly.

upload your stock data.zip and we will look at it and make the changes for you and reupload it and it should work for you then and we can then say that data.zip is for the 500 models if they are infact different but i need to see one first

I am using Vorians data.zip. If I give you my stock data.zip wont all of vorians mods be lost in my 500BT? I dont want to lose his mods, ie blue box, bigger clock, etc.

Can you make the change if I send you Vorians data.zip?

Okay I am an official idiot. I am trying to upload my stock data via the add attachement tab and it wont let me upload it. It says the folder is empty? Do I need to host the file or something or unzip it, then upload? :? I can send the stock DATA.zip via email if someone is willing to give me thier email. Thanks.

If you guys make the change I can upload to my 500BT and confirm with everyone if this mod does indeed work for the 500BT.

You can't upload your stock data.zip file here because it is over 2MB in size.

Posted Sep 05, 2008 · 21:26 UTC#30

OK so where I can host it to upload it?

Posted Sep 05, 2008 · 21:46 UTC#31

Okay, sorry for the delay but I am not familiar with zip files and have never dealt with them. Let me know if this works!

Here is my stock DATA.zip file from the AVIC-F500BT

jasonnorm, is this a true bypass, or just a work around? Are you still having to push in the park brake a little to get this to truly work?

This hack works for me, but I still have to push in the park break one notch to get the warning screen to disappear which in turn sets off an alarm that my park brake is on for as long as the car is moving. This is not a problem in older cars, but today's cars scream at you about everything.

Anyone else having this problem?

^^^^ you need to ground your Pbrake wire (the green one) and then you shouldnt get this message

I got it working, with 1 catch, i think that number (128, 16 ect.) is how many Km/hr, which makes sense because 16km/hr is rite around 10mph

i only realized this because i inadvertantly hit a little over 80 today and it gave me a warning and limited my options (128km/hr = roughly 80mph)

i am going to leave it at 128 though because if i am travelling over 80 i really dont think i need to be messing with my navi....just thought you guys would like to know that!

If your getting locked out at 10 miles per hour your bypass is not done correctly. Check your connections and wires. The hard wire bypass and the soft bypass are NOT combined. Its either one or the other. Its your choice. The update is not a factor and has no bearing at all.

if the wire bypass isnt working then its not done correctly

I just had my data.zip file changed with the software bypass by another hacker and it didnt work on my AVIC-F500BT. Also, I know it was installed correctly because I had Vorians settings and all those got changed back to stock once I installed the new data.zip file in my unit. I think its pretty safe to say it doesnt work on the 500BT.

Just for reference, I had the parking brake wired.

I can bypass it if I lightly set the parking brake but thats not the point of this thread.

yes i was the one that edited his data.zip for him and it did not work i used a higher number than 128 but i doubt that affected it as he tried and it didnt work either...

You go into windows mode and copy the files onto your SD card then make the changes on your computer. Then you rename the origina file to _____-bak and add the new file in under the original file's name

well open the directory on your desktop, copy and paste the file you have to change onto your desktop, open it in notepad, change it, save, rename the original file that you copied ________-bak ( the _____ is of course the file name) and drag the new file back into the directory, just make sure it had the same file name as the original. That way, when the unit searches for that file, it reads the modded one and not the real one. Then you put it back into your unit via SD

Has anyone tried this on F900? I have been furiously trying to change the ini file but it's not working. Feel like smashing the darn parking brake :)

Posted Sep 06, 2008 · 18:22 UTC#45

i am going to try it tonight on the f900 when i get off work .. will let u kno

Posted Sep 06, 2008 · 22:12 UTC#46

ok so i just copied all the files to my sd card went to my computer nd change the pioneer.nin file to say 128 at the parking thing ... went bck to car nd updated new files and updated didnt help any thing i did wrong

Posted Sep 06, 2008 · 23:20 UTC#47

Same thing with me. It seems like the parking brake wire also needs to be grounded. Did you install the 900 yourself?

The 128 setting in combination with the wire works..

ok so offically i am an idiot if anyone has a working bypass on the f900 can u tell me how u got it ...cuz i went to my device transwered everything to my sd card went to apl2/igo/data/project_config/pioneer nd change it to 256 then i save it on desktop moved it to folder renamed old one back-up then the new one the name of the older file then i went bck to the car went to win ce copyed all filed back then i resart the car nd no luck /..... so if anyone got this working can u plz help

Posted Sep 07, 2008 · 04:24 UTC#49

so i really hate to be a noob on this...but i have 2 questions...i found the .ini file, i change the number to 128.0, but it wont allow me to save it, only as a txt document. how do i save the changes on the this?

and my second question is...i assume since this bypass allows you to view video while driving, it allows you to do the other things that are restricted with it? such as inputting addresses in the nav and searching poi's?

Posted Sep 07, 2008 · 11:21 UTC#50

Guys,

please understand. I spent hours on this after reading someone's breakthrough that they got this to work by just cjanging that INI file. The fact is you need to not only change the INI file but also ground the Parking brake wire.

Also, once the DVD is bypassed I am sure other features that were parking brake dependent will be turned ON.
