This is the error I get when it's finished unpacking:

D:\EastDisk.zip: CRC failed in CNDV-80MT East.iso. The file is corrupt

Then it erases the ISO.

I have just tried unpacking with BitZipper as well. I get a very similar error. :x

UPDATE: After the 5th attempt at downloading the entire east coast file, I got one that unpacked correctly. I did not change anything else. Had issues, just re-downloaded and tried again. Finally worked. Now having very similar issues with pieces of the West Coast disc. Number 8 shows corrupt and number 16 shows wrong password. :x

UPDATE: Redownloaded the two parts and all unpacked correctly. I have no idea why I was getting so many errors, but note to any other users that may be having the same problems I had. Just keep redownloading. You'll get it.:) Now to attempt to burn and update.

CNDV-80MT West .iso is 7.93 GB

" " East .iso is 7.60 GB

I have uploaded the East disc to the news servers here is a NZB file for the entire thing with 5% par2 recovery blocks. Thanks to everyone for getting this together.

you my friend are awesome!

I reset the unit and uploaded the new disc again, everything works perfectly. If anyone has updated successfully but is having a few glitches in the software, I would recommend reseting the unit and then uploading the disc again."

Thanks for this tip! I had the same problem with my mp3 disc and was at a loss. Glad to find someone who had the same problem and posted the solution!

No problem at all.

Jlong,

Does your server have the "actual 80MT" West disk that will update all series yet? I noticed you said you were posting it last night but didn't notice a change in anything on the server. Thanks for hosting!

Posted Oct 10, 2008 · 00:23 UTC#184

Unzipping etc now and will have to get a dl disk before I can burn it but can someone verify for me... will this update erase my saved addresses etc when it updates? I guess I could just go copy them down but...

To the person with all the corrupt file errors etc..

I also had a msg when I 1st tried to unpack that the file was corrupt

I went and dl'd the latest version of 7-zip and the same file that was

reported as being corrupt before unzipped fine.

Whenever youre dealing with an img file or a compressed file

that "someone else" made, it's always best when you get errors or failed

burns (before you go driving yourself nuts) to update all your software.

If newer software was used to make the file then you currently have installed "duh" LOL

Just tried the East one on a D1 and it works like a charm. Thanks big time for your help folks! :D

Not sure if anything has changed, but the .rar that I downloaded from THIS server for EAST was incorrect. Unrared it was around 4 gigs, which is incorrect. I downloaded the torrent version which unrared is around 7.41gb, burned it with Nero 9 (Magic Iso apparently didn't want to burn it correctly) and it worked perfectly. Used Memorex DL.

Is the east on this server, correct now? The rar files seems to say 3.4gb, even compressed that is STILL too small. Winrar doesn't compress past (or even close) to half the file size...so I think the EAST one is still incorrect on this server.

The one I downloaded from this server was the .zip and it worked perfectly...

Chalk up another successful download/installation. Took a few times of downloading to get a complete copy that would unzip with errors, but I got em.

Burned with Nero 7 at 2.4X. Took damn near an hour per disc. But finished without errors and updated D3 without a hitch. This upgrade does erase all your backgrounds and resets SOME BUT NOT ALL of your personal settings. (Beep volume was reset. Saved destinations, EQ settings, button color, background color, etc were not changed)

EDIT: And I made the torrent I said I was going to. Will be seeding for the next few days solid.

I just bought a D3 off of ebay but it didn't come with any navagation disc. Do I need the orginals disc or can I use the update disc that are out?

Posted Oct 15, 2008 · 00:32 UTC#192

you can use the image on the server, it will update your device and then you will be able to use it

Posted Oct 15, 2008 · 01:02 UTC#193

I dowloaded the zip file from the ftp server a week ago but only today was I able to test it (I had to wait for some blank Dual Layer Memorex DVDs to arrive in the mail). It works great! Scared the hell out of me when the screen went black for about 20 seconds but then it said "Updating" and a progress bar ran thru to 100% and then the unit rebooted.

After it came back up it now says Pioneer 5/2008 on the boot up screen. THis is for Avic-D3

I used "7-zip" to unzip the file. Then I used "DVD-Decrypter" to write the iso image to a dual layer dvd+r Memorex brand at 4x

Much thanks to the uploader and the person who hosted this file on their ftp server.

You Rock!!

Worked Great On my D3 thanks to everyone who made this possible :D

Posted Nov 02, 2008 · 18:17 UTC#195

Help Please. I have dl both the East and West files. Extracted to iso. East is 7.9 gb and West is 8.3 gb.

When I burn to Memorex DVD +R DL, everything seems good until I insert into my D3. The D3 says "Reading Format" then "The inserted DVD is invald".

Please help.

Posted Nov 04, 2008 · 02:17 UTC#196

OK. I give up. I've been through 8 Memorex DVD+R DL trying to successfully burn an East CNDV-80MT for an AVIC-D2. Keep getting "invalid disc."

I've tried Alcohol 120 and PowerISO, using various different directions posted here. I swear I am pretty computer literate.

Whether the ISO is corrupt or my burner is incapable or whatever, I give up! Any one out there willing to burn them for me and allow me to compensate you for time/shipping?

Please! Using the '06 map is New Orleans kind of a joke.

Im downloading the east and west version now. i HOPE i don;t have an issue how ever you never know. I live in CT and definatly could use a EAST and if possible WEST copy. I too am useing the 06 maps and hartford is totally screwed up. Will compensate someone for both copys for their time/effort. thanks

Can someone point me in the right direction to burn this on a Mac? I have a few different programs I can use, but if someone has had success, I would like to know ahead of time.

Thanx
