Is there anyone that has successfully burned a copy of the new disk that could sell me a copy? I need the updated East disk for my D3, but I do not have a dual layer burner.

Hey Morfious, is that the "ACTUAL" (Not the N5 disk) CNDV-80MT disk? You wouldn't happen to have the west one available, would you?

the east disc is it the actual upgrade or is it the disc for the n5???

The is the same image that was downloaded from the ftp site. It is the actual 80MT disk NOT the N5 disc. I do not have the west disc or else I would put that up as well.

As for burning you have to use the "burn image" tool in your burning program.

Update directions for dummies (Using my nzb file)

I'll assume you already have premium newsgroup access and a news program such as Unison or Newzleecher.

Unrar the multiple files and you will be left with a file CNDV-80MT East.iso this file should be 7.6 GB

Open up your burning program (Nero, alcohol 120% toast ) and pick burn disc from image ( or whatever it happens to be called in your particular program).

Click the big burn button and wait 30-40 minutes. I picked 2x speed to ensure a good burn. You must have a DL burner and media.

Take the disc out to the D3 (along with the disk you made that has your custom screens on it). Turn on the D3, eject your old disc and put in the new one. It will automatically see the new map info and start updating. Wait 3 minutes and it will be done. Eject the disk and restore your custom screens and you are finished. I had no problems with this at all.

Posted Oct 08, 2008 · 19:25 UTC#157

when will the real east disk be posted for the d 3 , not the one for the n 5?

Posted Oct 08, 2008 · 19:26 UTC#158

It works on my D3 is all that I know. I have heard that it is the actual disk and I have heard that it is not. I know the ones that will be up later today will be the actual disk. I have actual pictures of the disk which will update all of the N-Series and D-series. I am told the disk that are up there now will only update the D3, N4, and N5.

The actual Disk will update all of the N-series and D-series

the actual discs are supposed to update the background did anyone notice that?

Posted Oct 08, 2008 · 20:40 UTC#160

nope not me, same back grounds

Posted Oct 08, 2008 · 20:43 UTC#161

Why doesn't someone make a torrent already. Give these guys a break. If I could get these damn things to un-rar without errors, even with WinRAR 3.80, I'd do it myself. :x

My server is fine with handling the traffic. I was actually surprised that it handled it better then when it was on digg

hmmm... I updated my D3 and my D1 using the east disk you posted. I DL'd it on the 4th.

How are you supposed to know what's what?

Posted Oct 08, 2008 · 22:33 UTC#164

If you were able to update your D3 then it was in fact the real CNDV-80MT disc. I know for a fact that the West coast disc was a disc from the N5. I will have the actual CNDV-80MT disk for download tonight. If you have a working disc there is no reason for you to download the new disc unless you want to. This is more for the people that have had the wrong disc for their unit and have not been able to update it

so are there any new backgrounds on the actual 80 east disk?

Have no clue I have my custom backgrounds set

My 2 cents...

I have an N2 that was updated with 70MTP discs. I burned both 80MT discs, it reads the west disc but says incorrect disc (or whatever when it tries to update. However the east disc updated just fine. After that, it reads the west disc for navigation just fine. Just an FYI...

THANK YOU SOOO SOOO much for this update...I ended up having to get a new burner(Pioneer 116d-$28 from newegg) in order to burn the disc correctly ...but the update went smooth as can be on my D2!!!!!

i followed this procedure from raiden

Unzip the file with latest version of winrar so you have an .iso

download and open imgburn

go into Tools -> Settings

Go to the Write Tab

At the top right, (Layer Break), click on User Specified

Enter 2084960

Click on OK to go back to the main screen.

Click Write image file to disc

Click on the icon next to "Please select a file..."

Select your .iso file

make sure write speed is maximum 2.4x

Click on the "file to disc" icon at the bottom left of the screen. (Under the Verify option)

There you go!

and i used verbatim dvd+r dl disks

For those of you who can't get it and would like a copy contact me and I'd be willing to do it for you!

Under my software info on the nav... it actually states the cdnv80mt-something something.....I can't remember what it said.... there was no new backgrounds.... I didn't notice any changes really except for the Maps.

I can make you a copy, i just got a 20pack from bestbuy od dual layer disc and i'm triyng to burn the disk.

Where a you located???

Posted Oct 09, 2008 · 00:15 UTC#172

Ok. I have downloaded the .zip version 3 times now. WinRAR 3.80 shows it as ~8.1G and begins to unpack it. Everything seems normal until it finishes at 100%. I get a small alert window saying the ISO is corrupt. Obviously other people are having no problems, so what could be my problem?

Posted Oct 09, 2008 · 00:17 UTC#173

that after you unzip it, i sould be 7.6 gigs

Posted Oct 09, 2008 · 00:21 UTC#174

Mine says 8,166,576,128bytes

Posted Oct 09, 2008 · 00:23 UTC#175

that is correct
