JLONG U ROCK! THANKS SO MUCH

But i seem to have a problem i downloaded the file using the FileZilla FTP clientt and when i try to extract it Winrar tells me its corrupted. Ok, so i went and downloaded the newer version and it still says the same thing. Does anyone know what i can do now to fix this?

use firefox or safari....they both work flawlessly...and burn disc using any ISO program...magicISO or powerISO etc etc ...should solve your issue....use the reset porthole by the eject button with the new disc in the unit and it will reboot and update correctly...

I have a quick question about the CNDV-80 MT upgrade process. I recently downloaded a copy from a torrent (not the file you're providing) and everything seem to go fine, until i put the disc in the unit. It said "invalid disc" or something like that. I am currently downloading your copy, and going to give that a try, but I was wondering if this is a known issue, or if the other copy was just bad. When i did an upgrade to CNDV-70, i had no problems, and yes, i did extract the files and turned it into an .iso . I have read some stuff about re-setting the unit, and then it will work fine, but I don't like to do that stuff unless I know for sure that it will solve the problem. I just don't want to end up wasting bandwidth and time if the copy i have is good, but i just needed to mod something. Any help would be great! Thanks!

Biggest thing is to make sure the disc verifies after the burn process is complete IMO.

i used img burn, and i always run a verify after a disc, and everything came out ok. I checked the disc on my computer, and it seemed like everything was there.

I cant guarentee anything unless you downloaded it from my server. BTW don't worry about bandwidth I have a bit to go around

Posted Oct 21, 2008 · 01:03 UTC#183

Ok so i finally burned the disc using DVD decrypter and i too ended up with bad sector errors during the verify process.

I tried image burn and received an error while writing..:-( i give up.

It said "invalid address for write" - does anyone know what this may mean?

i downloaded the WEST.iso file and used powerISO to bur the image file onto a sony dvd-DL disc. popped it into my N2, and it updated and worked perfectly! didn't notice much different other then darker buttons on the screen and a few different poi overlay icons. is there a list somewhere that shows the difference once it is updated? thanks to the OP for making this files available to download!

Hey thanks for the upload... I downloaded and burned but I have a question. I put the east disc in first and it ran through updated with the process bar to 100% but when I put the West disc in it did not update like the other is this correct? They both work so Im assuming its alright.... Lastly are my original discs that came with the D3 no good now because it doesn't read them? Im thinking bout selling them on ebay or something if that's the case. THANKS AGAIN SAVED ME 120 BUCKS!!!

Well I just updated flawlessly with the east file I downloaded via FTP. I'm using a mac so I extracted the iso from the zip file using "Stuffit Expander" to my desktop, then burned it to a FUJIFILM DVD+R DL disc using "Disk Utility". Waited for the disc to verify and eject then took it to my truck, inserted it, watched it update and PRESTO! works like a charm! Haven't really played around with it to see the changes yet but the UI seems a little faster.

That's correct. The first disc (west or east, whichever) you put in updates the system. The second disc you put in, it will reboot (to update the maps). After that, you're done.

I really appreciate what you have done for this community. That is really solid.

I am currently @ 45% downloading.

Does anyone know of a free DVD burning program or can put up on the server?

Use Imgburn.. that's what I used. Free too

May I ask what these disks are for? I know they are maps but do I really need them?

I know they are maps but do I really need them?

If you need them is up to you. It offers some updates to the map data (POIs and some new roads) and makes your load and search time slightly faster.

I had problems with my D3 after the update too. LOTS of problems. But i figured it was the brand of dvd that I used.

So I bought MEMOREX DVD+R DL 8X. Burned it with NERO Buring Rom 7 at 2x speed. That fixed all my problems. =)

Thanks for the isos.

Posted Oct 23, 2008 · 12:58 UTC#194

Yeah, normally anything MEMOREX is considered low-grade, but every DVD-based AVIC I've come across has no problems at all with MEMOREX DL discs. They always work perfectly.

Yes, lightscribe and duel layer are two different things, but your burner should work for the avic disc.

ya. I guess I have lighscribe and 4x dvd DL. When I get home I'm gonna burn the map. Yay.

Does this actually fix the D3 from taking you in circles? or off roads then back on at the same spot you left the road??? I sure hope so .

on the link to the download page (http://www.vwinvoices.com/downloads/index.html. )

There are two East???

the first file ends with east.zip

the second file ends with west.iso

I am assuming the west.iso is the one I want for the west...

how come the east is a .zip?? do you need to convert anything after dowloading it

Ok, so another question regarding the east disc. I copied it (version from this forum) burned it with imgburn, and verified the disc. Everything went perfect, EXCEPT when i put it in the avic-n3, it said "read error" Anyone else have this problem? My other copy of the disc said "please insert appropiate disc" So, both copies are giving me some kind of problem. If anyone has any input, please let me know. Otherwise, I'll just wait til 2009 and buy the discs :-). Thanks!
