Hi guys,

I have not made any good progress lately with the sound. Been disassembling pioneer software to see how they were able to control the sound but can't seem to duplicate this action.

If there is someone here that is knowledgeable with Embedded device you can help me with this. This audio problem is holding up on the project. I tried many things such as setting the WAV1: to different power state but with no luck. By looking through he function that was called by their software, it looks like Pioneer have their own API library for their sound manager.

Another thing, I was able to extract some important dlls files from WINCEIMG.BIN. This is your flash rom files by the way. In the future I hope we can modify this and reflash it.

My internet will be up and running tommorrow, I will post you guys a newer launcher that run tomtom. Also it should fix that screen issue when launching the main AVIC software.

Once the sound is figure out, I will code a new mp3/avi player for the deck that can boot up faster. For the Bluetooth and phone, I believe IGO already have the features to do that, I will try to make it work with our deck.

Hi leetcoder:

Good job :D , the problem with the sound maybe is the startup on the testmode, why not replace the Pioneer mainmenu.exe or navi.exe for your launcher?

That's awesome!

Can you share anything of what tools you are using and so forth... maybe more could help....

TomTom sound is now working. There is no tools. I disassemble using IDA, and then rewrite the ASM. My front end is pure C++ on ARMv4 platform :).

Im thinking of adding another NAVI too for variety. GARMIN Mobile XT :P

Update:

Igo8 sound is now working as well.

This update is coming tomorrow I promise :)

Sweet! I just bought this unit and look forward to reaping the benefits of your hardwork leetcoder! Thanks so much!

leetcoder good job on the sound.

does bt functions still work while in other environments?

does ipod voice control work?

also I went to tomtom store and put in a tomtom one 3rd ed and it brought up navigator 7, is that the one your using?

sorry for all the questions but u made a huge breakthrough.

Fantastic work!

If you supply a PayPal address, I (and I am sure many others) will be more than happy to contribute a few bucks for all of your hard work and continued efforts!

THIS type of work is exactly why I bought this unit despite the number of "out of the box" defects. This is a VERY hackable unit and that makes it worth every penny.

you are doing amazing work..

i wouldn't doubt if pioneer approached you with a job offer. hahaha

Do I need the MiTACAP folder on my SD also? The reason I ask is because I only have the launcher on my SD and nothing happened.

Posted Oct 17, 2008 · 20:38 UTC#67

No you dont need any other folder other than the one inside the zip file. It should launch correctly. Make sure you extract everything exactly as is onto the root of the SD Card, put the SD card on and reboot unit.

Sorry for the questions, I'm kinda new to this. Do I put the entire launcher folder into the root of the SD, or do I mover all the sub-folders in the root individually?

Your SD Card should contain the following:

\Storage Card\

->voices

->TomTom

->Testmode

->iGo8

Okay, that was my problem. I moved the Launcher folder to the SD, with everything else as a subfolder. Thanks!

Make sure you copy the LANG folder from your Pioneer IGO CONTENT folders into /iGo8/CONTENT/ on your SD CARD.

Great Job.

Can you add garmin xt to the launcher?

Posted Oct 17, 2008 · 22:38 UTC#75

Leet I got I problem while running Igo....the only way to go back to the launcher is exiting Igo....Just to let you know...

Edit ****

Figured it out....the commands are in the keybind.txt in DATA.zip....edited and changed the function of the button to MINIMIZE now I can go between AVIC and IGO8 as i please.....reallllly nice!

Tutorial

1. Download this file

http://rapidshare.com/files/155047885/sys.txt.html

and copy it to the the My Flash Disk/APL2/igo

It will change the AVIC GPS port so we can use the GPS in another application

2. Download this file

http://rapidshare.com/files/155049672/DATA.ZIP.html

it's the DATA.ZIP file modified to change the function of the MENU button, it will only minimize the IGO application, and copy it to the SD card/Igo8

3. Load up leet's launcher

4. Run AVIC

5. When you want to use the GPS just go to main menu and press MENU it will bring up the launcher click in the IGO....

6. While in Igo just click the MENU to return to avic.

7. There you go....enjoy...even wheel controls are ok now....

*** IMPORTANT ****

Use this sequence, otherwise it won't, you need to load the avic before igo.
