Hi F500BT users,

I have done some modifications to Leetlauncher and I am currently working on it (but the time I can spend on it is very limited...).

Here below is a description of what I am doing, in case someone is interested to it pls let me know, as soon as it is finished I can share it, it depends on when I can solve the open issues (see below), and any help you can give to me will be greatly appreciated !

1. I have solved the standby problem on F500BT with Leetlauncher.

I have created a new icon in the application list to put the device in standby mode, the final effect is the same you have with the original Pioneer sw when you quickly press the on-off button. It works very well.

Question/issue: if somebody knows how commands can be associated with the hw buttons of the F500BT, pls let me know, I could put in standby mode the device just pressing a hw button instead of clicking the LL icon.

2. I have also added and integrated the Amigo sw inside LL, it runs properly however I am still struggling with the Amigo available resolutions, because there are currently no skins able to support the 800x480 resolution.

I know Amigo can read the sys.txt, I tried including some lower resolutions just like with IGO but either I have a very small image on the screen or a too large (cut) image, or worst a message saying this resolution is not supported.

Question/issue: Any suggestions on how to adapt the resolution ? Do you know if any modified Amigo skin supporting 800x480 is available ?

3. I have also updated the IGO version in LL to the last available release, however in this case the upper left button does not allow you anymore to return to Leetlauncher, I need to press the iconize button inside Igo8 to do it.

Again if someone can give suggestions on how to drive hw buttons of the F500BT I will use it, the other alternative is to create an icon on the IGO navigation screen to standby the device.

Hi,

I have been reading this forum for a while and I would like to thank you all for your information and fruitful discussions.

Finally I purchased a f500bt and I installed it into the car dashboard. Unfortunately I cannot access the SD card anymore and that makes me sick because I though I would have to disassemble all the dashboard for future hacking or map updates.

I have tried to overcome this problem by several ways but I have not found a clear answer in the forums for all these issues:

- Connect the F500bt to a computer. The computer finds something but there are not drivers (Pioneer SAT said there is no way).

- Leetlauncher installed in a USB stick. It boots from there but it freezes in a screen (something like System update. Please wait) but I have been waiting for a very long time (30 minutes) and nothing seems to happen. The USB light is continuously lightened and I don't know if this time is normal. The SD card has 8 gB of mp3s and I don't know if Leetelauncher makes something with them in the first boot....just to guess

Has anyone succeeded in installing leetlauncher with applications and maps and boot from a USB stick?

- SD extension cable. There is nothing like that in the market but I am considering the possibility of preparing an extension cable by two SD2microSD adapters.

Anyone has tried something like this?

Any answers will be welcome.

Start testmode or via - leetlauncher - applications - windows explorer - start - settings - control panel -and change usbclient to serial,,

Now you should have connection as a windowsCE device and copy d/elete all you want,,

hope this helps,

PS: I have my Ipod or HD 160 Gb connected via USB to the f500 with a lot of music and videos and is working perfect,, look for topics in this forum for harddrives,,

Good luck

Thanks for the fast answer, eldeep. :D

I will try the USB client switching solution you mention.

Be sure you have a copy of the testmode on a SD card,, if not,, via USB you cannot boot,,

You can find testmode on this forum,,

Good luck

Thanks for the advice,

By the way, in my f500bt, leetlauncher boots from the USB and then hangs (I have not found any info on Leetlauncher running from an USB, maybe I am doing something wrong or it is not possible).

I have also found test mode USB version but have not tested it yet.

I will check if USB booting is possible first (I'd rather not removing the dashboard, screws, etc. to reach the Sd card I have at present just in case I introduce some noises in the dashboard).

If it does not work, I will have to install testmode in the Sd card, but then I would boot always in test mode....

Will keep you informed.

Good night,

I have just tested the testmode 2.3 USB version and it boots from the USB stick without any problems.

This way I can access the card and move files. It is a good solution.

Anyway, this still makes me wonder wether Leetlauncher can boot completely from a USB stick. This could make possible to insert the USB stick everytime I wanted to use leetlauncher (as most people in this forum have been doing with the SD card).

Will keep you informed.

If you look through some of Leet's MortScript files and replace any reference to "My Flash Disk" with "USB Disk" you might be off to a good start. The only other issue might be if he's hard-coded references to "My Flash Disk" into some of his custom programs (like the main launcher, say for sourcing images).

Hi FourG,

Sorry for the late answer but I have not had time to go to the car and test until now.

I replaced all reference to "My Storage Card" for "USB Disk" in all files (not only Leet but also some files on the navigator folders). Unfortunately it does not work.

I understand "My flash Disk" is the internal memory of the F500bt, I maybe wrong (that could be my next trial).

Will keep you informed....

Hi Guys

Will leetlauncher work on the new F10BT series??

Also i was looking to run OZI explorer which is a topographic map software package, it would be very handy amongst the 4wd community.

Any info greatly appreciated

The F10 is not part of the same F series as before. The F10 does not run Windows CE, will not run Testmode, and does not use iGo software. The F10 is the same unit as the US Z110BT. So answer is no, there will be no hacks or mods for the Z110BT/F10BT.

Hello

I have just bought a UK F500BT with software version 3.010100 and tried to load LeetLauncher v3.0 with no luck at all.

After playing the mp3 file and re-booting the unit it locks with the Pioneer menu screen and will not go any further.

I have the following on my SD card

Application Data

Garmin

iGo8

LeetLauncher

Testmode

Tomtom

Voices

device.nng

I have read all the posts but may have missed something on the 53 pages!

Am i doing something wrong or is it the latest version of the software.

Many thanks for any help.

I would not use this program as it is over a year old and there have been lots of updates to the initial firmware since. Combine that with the fact that Leetcoder is hardly ever in these forums anymore, I would not reccomend this, it could cause major problems

Hello

Please let me know how did you install Garmin and iGo8 on the SD? and how do you select the program to run ?

Please make sure you're running testmode v2.3. Older version doesn't work with firmware v3.

One thing is unclear to me. I just bought a f500bt and I just created this sd card just like talked about here. If it works as stated above and if I was to turn off gps and remove sd card, will it be back to normal. Does this all work off of the sd card or does it get copied onto the gps. THNX

I havent tried the program, but I do know that it remains on the SD card and DOES NOT get copied over simply because the AVIC lacks the internal memory for such a large file. Therefore it reads the data from the memory card.

That is good to know. This way you can't mess things up. Just setting thing up now.
