Use version 7 of the maps, dont change the folder name, make sure the maps are activated, and the root of the SD card is the first layer of folders. Like if you open the SD card in explorer, youll see a TomTom folder. The North America folder should be on the same level.

Ok let me see if I understand. The Folder NorthAmerica should be outside of TomTom (That's what I understand on the same level) So...

iGo8

Testmode

TomTom

North_America

usericon, USB Disk

voices

Is this correct?

Correct ;)

leet, thanks for the good work,it is really useful for those like me living out of the states. this is the only way for me to use gps now. i need to ask something, do you experience some volume problems with your launcher 1.5? sometimes sd card, and usb files volume gets too low even at the maximum settings and the only way to fix this is to reset the machine.is it just me or anyone experiencing the same issue?

Thanks for the great work!

I have the F500BT and receive the same FMOD ERROR as gpollachi; after pressing okay everything works except audio.

Sound works fine on the default AVIC system AND in WindowsCE via the LeetLauncher 1.5.

However, there is no sound/audio while in iGo8 via the LeetLauncher 1.5.

I am amazed at how fast the F500BT runs iGo8 via the LeetLauncher. Excellent work, thank you very much! Any chance to get bluetooth / iPhone working with iGo8?

Thank you very much for all your hard work!

OK I know why now why F500BT having this error with no sound. The sound device is different in F500BT compare to F700bt and f900bt. I'll try to release 2 version later one just for f500bt.

Leet I got I problem while running Igo....the only way to go back to the launcher is exiting Igo....Just to let you know...

Edit ****

Figured it out....the commands are in the keybind.txt in DATA.zip....edited and changed the function of the button to MINIMIZE now I can go between AVIC and IGO8 as i please.....reallllly nice!

Tutorial

1. Download this file

http://rapidshare.com/files/155047885/sys.txt.html

and copy it to the the My Flash Disk/APL2/igo

It will change the AVIC GPS port so we can use the GPS in another application

2. Download this file

http://rapidshare.com/files/155049672/DATA.ZIP.html

it's the DATA.ZIP file modified to change the function of the MENU button, it will only minimize the IGO application, and copy it to the SD card/Igo8

3. Load up leet's launcher

4. Run AVIC

5. When you want to use the GPS just go to main menu and press MENU it will bring up the launcher click in the IGO....

6. While in Igo just click the MENU to return to avic.

7. There you go....enjoy...even wheel controls are ok now....

*** IMPORTANT ****

Use this sequence, otherwise it won't, you need to load the avic before igo.

GUGA

can this be fixed to make the menu button work from the ipod screen? when i push MENU within the ipod screen .. nothing happens. i assume it can be hooked back?

also... can someone upload the orig SYS file? in my excitement i forgot to back that guy up... newbie mistake.. i know i know..

thanks in advance!

I dont know if this was asked, but what is the boot time for LeetLauncher? How long to get to the menu?

Leetcoder,

I have not installed your launcher yet but would like to say thank you for the good work first.

Secondly, would it be possible to build a stock version of igo8 with the original AV map overlays that show the source, track or station and artwork from the AVIC?

To me, this is the holy grail because I can use a better nav interface, skin as I wish, and keep all of the AVIC AV functions. I am thinking it could even be installed directly to the AVIC.

Do you think it can be pulled off?

I think he's already working on this, on pg1 item 6 i think. This would be sic to use stock Avic and Igo8 interface. Not sure how the BT POI calls and voice commands would work though. TomTom may be more difficult.

Is it possible to change the menu hard button to a switch of some sort to cycle Launcher and Avic Main Menu? when using tomtom or igo, we cant get into main avic menu to change settings or make phone call cause menu button brings up launcher. My issue today was my ipod sound wasnt working and i realized i had to change AV1 to ipod but i couldnt get to settings.

Posted Oct 24, 2008 · 19:05 UTC#137

isn't there a fix for that already?

with the new sys.txt and data.zip

i load up avic .. start up my ipod.. then if i need to NAV i go back to avic main menu.. (by pushing the ipod icon then the back arrow) ... then from there i push the MENU hard button.. and that brings me to the launcher.. then i hit IGO ... from there you can push MENU hard button to go back to launcher.. and push AVIC..

it's really roundabout .. i think if i could hit MENU from the ipod screen to go to launcher that'd help quite a bit ..

but i can switch between avic and igo

To let you guys know the progress, I'm not going to fix any bugs to the launcher at this time. My focus is currently on the Audio Video player, it will be based on the media player TCPMP 0.72.

I am currently still rewriting the codes to support skinning and interface that is more user friendly to be safe for daily driving.

wasn't tcpmp discontinued?

just wondering

Posted Oct 26, 2008 · 01:36 UTC#140

I believe TCPMP turned into (for pay) CorePlayer. TCPMP is a very good foundation for an A/V player since it will play almost anything...

This is awesome! It is possible to make McGuider-Sygic working next to TT7 and IGo8. McGuider have to my opinion best of both TT and IGO.

how about a navigon gps option? They have great navigation and graphics

Posted Oct 28, 2008 · 06:51 UTC#143

I just notice something. The AVIC have another built in unit that is seperrated from the Windows CE. This means that even if the pioneer software is not loaded your deck can still use the FM/AM tuner, CD,DVD to play music and movies. The pioneer software however communicate with that component to navigate tracks and volume etc.

This could also explain why I could not get the rear speaker to work. The whole audio is amplified through a different module of the deck.

I did not notice this before because haven't try putting in an audio cd and mp3 cd. So even if you guys use the Launcher 1.5, you can still put a cd into the unit and use the audio. Another thing I notice is that the unit can load up and play the cd really fast within 5-10 seconds of booting up the unit.

I am currently working on skinning TCPMP but thinking of putting this project on hold and continue to work on improving the launcher to see if it can communicate with this module. I will probably will continue skinning the TCPMP later for those that have a deck that doesn't support DIVX.

i think that's a logical decision as well. i'm all for a fully functional interface prior to recoding a music player when there's a working one semi there.

i'd almost would like to see the AVIC launcher auto load pioneer AVIC.. because i actually use the ipod interface.. then if i wanted to run navi.. i could use the customized igo 8 ...

is it possible to remap the MAP button to run igo8 (through the launcher so you could still minimize) maybe?

X2 on the AVIC auto launcher+iPod+modded igo8

A bonus would be AVIC controls overlayed modded igo8 :)

Wow, i just extracted all the files from the Laucnher at the root of the SD, and copied Maps, poi & 3d buildings from another Igo version i have for PDA.

and then tried it in my car :

results : AMAZING !

- the launcher is ready in 20 secs.

- Igo8 runs exactly as on my PDA, sound works and TMC too !

- drawings of maps in Igo are pretty fast and the screen reacts as soon as i touch it ! (that feeling is really great. And it just demonstrate that the original Pioneer avic firmware is coded too heavy)

I'm finally a bit more happy about the F900bt thanks to you :)

I know you are working on the player right now, do u think we gonna be able to listen to music (radop or SD) and navigate with Igo8 at the same time ??

also how hard would it be to keep the rear camera view ability ?

THANKS again leetcoder

Does the Launcher work with the 2.0 firmware update?

Posted Oct 30, 2008 · 17:10 UTC#148

Yes!!!!!! Still working!

Posted Oct 30, 2008 · 20:58 UTC#149

I can confirmed that it is safe to upgrade to firmware v 2.0. Testmode, Launcher, and NAVI software will still work.

Posted Oct 30, 2008 · 22:09 UTC#150

Thanks, I always like to confirm things before I commit.
