Ok after I upgraded the software I can no longer pair my phone. It worked b4...any ideas?
Version 2.0 is LIVE!
Tried what you said todx. I reformatted the SD card. By the way, its a 8 GB card, is that okay?? Then, I downloaded again from site (took like an hour!!) I unzipped the file and extracted the two I needed. Then, I loaded on SD card and tried to install. I got error message "File Checking Error:/ storage card/:LPUE080/APL/iconv.dll is wrong!." I called pioneer again. This time the guy told me my unit was bad and to send it back?? Do I really need to do that?? Maybe, I am just not unzipping right? The folders LPUE and TTS have within them other zip files. Is this okay or do those need to be unzipped too?
Any help would be appreciated, I have been working at this for like 4 hours now!!
anyone try any mods on the new firmware 2.0? if so what are the procedures same as before test mode etc...

I suppose return it, but try to get some money back for your troubles or something.
mmonacell,
Have you tried a different SD card yet? I used a 4GB one, and all was well - something to attempt. Also, you are inserting the SD card when the unit off, correct? I would try everything I could before taking the entire unit out and sending it back at this point.
Let us know how it turns out.
Cheers,
Kevin

Install the Alternate version of the bluetooth update, it is basically the old bluetooth. So if your bt worked before, install that and it will work again.

Did you get into the phone settings page of your unit and try to pair it that way by searching for your phone ? That's what I had to do.
i too have this same problem...my env was working fine with it, but after the bluetooth update, my phone can no longer be found to pair it. I've tried discovery mode through the device and on my phone and they do not find each other. What is this alternate bluetooth update? Is it on Pioneer's website?
My EnV works just fine with the Avic-F700BT. Make sure you put the EnV in to "Discoverable Mode" first and then search and find it through the Pioneer. You will have to transfer your contacts over 10 at a time however once you have established a connection.
yes my env DID work fine too...i did the same thing with the last update..im assuming its just the new bluetooth software...although it could be that the bluetooth chip in the phone is damaged ill have to try that out
Would someone be kind enough to let me borrow their SD card with the 2.0 firmware update already downloaded? I can mail you a prepaid envelope, and I will return it promptly. Circuit City used to do all my work, but now they are gone from the Atlanta area already.
Or, if there's someone in the greater Atlanta area I could meet up. Any help is appreciated.

It is AMAZINGLY easy to do it. If you can copy and paste in windows, you can do it. I've never done anything like it before but I'm familiar with Windows. Scared to death, I figured I would just take a peek and nt change anything. When I saw the familiar windows XP/95 screen on my AVIC I felt MUCH better and did it. Works like a charm.
Wire bypass is ridiculously easy too. Just literally cut the solid light green wire, expose the wire and attach it to ANYTHING metal. I secured mine with electrical tape. I've never done anyting like that either. Again, worked like a charm.
Look under the hacks section on the software bypass thread (page nine or so I think). It has the BEST step by step for novice I have seen on this thread.
Where do I find the green cable ??? How do I download that file to the SD Card , so I can changed the file after that on my comp ???

*THESE DIRECTIONS ARE COMPLETE YOU WON'T GET LOST UNLESS YOU'RE A LOST CAUSE
*Your parking brake wire (light green) has to be grounded. You can ground it to the black wire coming off the black power harness that connects to your stock radio ground connection, the cigarette lighter black ground, the vehicle chassis, etc.
*I updated my Avic to 2.0 firmware, its up to you if you want to do this because all you're trying to do is replace the "data.zip" file. Or if you don't want to upgrade you can follow steps 1-4,6 to access your Avic and copy/paste the original file from your Avic to SD card, open it up on your computer, edit it as mentioned below, put it back on your SD card, then follow steps 7-15. On how to Upgrade your firmware search avic411 or go to:
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/ ... e+Download
1. Make sure you are a registered member of avic411 or else you won't be able to see the files you need to download.
2. Download the Testmode.zip file folder from:
http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic. ... sc&start=0
3. Use Winrar (people have reported problems with Winzip) and open up Testmode.zip
4. Extract BOTH Testmode and MiTACAP files to your desktop by highlighting the folders and clicking the "Extract To" tab on Winrar and selecting "Desktop".
5. Get a hold of the data.zip file, you will need to edit it THROUGH Winrar. If you upgrade to the 2.0 Avic Firmware you can find the data.zip file in the firmware folder you download. You can download the firmware off Avic 411 or go to pioneerelectronics.com. Once you have the firmware downloaded open it up with Winrar. Click on F-Series Firmware Update -> LPUE080 -> APL2 -> iGo -> RIGHT CLICK data.zip and select "View File" -> Click project_config -> Click pioneer.ini (opens up in notepad)
Next, scroll down till you see:
[pioneer]
parking_break_speed=16.0
hide_logos=1
Change the "16.0" -> 128.0 , then click "file" "save". You will be prompted File "pioneer.ini" was modified click YES. Also click YES to "data.zip" being modified. Now extract "data.zip" in Winrar to your Desktop by highlighting the folder and clicking the "Extract To" tab on Winrar and selecting "Desktop". You should find it inside the "F-Series Firmware Update" folder by clicking through it.
6. Copy and paste the three files that should now be on your desktop (Testmode/MiTACAP/data.zip) to your SD card.
7. Insert the SD card into your unit with your vehicle powered off.
8. Turn your key to the vehicle ACC on position and your Avic should boot up in WinCE mode.
9. X out of whatever screen pops up till you get to the desktop.
10. Triple click to get into "My Device" is what i believe its called the first icon at the top of the desktop on the Avic.
11. Go into your SD card, highlight the "data.zip" file, click "edit" "copy".
12. Click back, now go into the main Avic drive in "My Device", i think its called flash something...i'm not sure the exact name but you can't miss it.
13. Similar to how you navigated through the firmware to find "data.zip" to change it, click to get to it, LPUE080 -> APL2 -> iGo
14. You should find the original "data.zip" that's on your Avic right now in there.
15. Now click "edit" "paste" and click "Yes to all" to replace the original data.zip with the one that you put on your SD card.
16. Reboot your Avic and you should be good to go.
* I tried describing all the steps by memory to the best of my ability, in the sequence i performed them, and to their fullest detail. i should be charging ppl for this post...lol...hope it helps...
Where do I find the green cable ??? How do I download that file to the SD Card , so I can changed the file after that on my comp ???
The green cable will be located under the dash (if you lay in the floorboard and look up under dash) travelling from the console over to the e-brake. it is solid green (actually mint green). cut it and then expose the wire and connect it to exposed metal underneath the dash. i was chicken to do this but there was plenty of slack in mine so I figured I could always tie it back up if it didn't work.
ckally33,
You're good. Thanks for your help !!!
Im stoked, boot up time is way faster, but I installed the BT update and bnow BT doesnt work right. =(
any ideas?
yesterday I´ve downloaded the Update for F series from pioneer.de
AVIC_F700900_APL_2001000_CE_6170.zip
i thought 1.9 is the actually version for EU units.. is this second update?
Yes seems to be the newest update for the EU versions.
And here is the log of the update :
ver. 2.001000
- Increased the Microphone sensitivity for Bluetooth
i think in the next update they must focus in the screen response. Also a new future like AVH-P4100DVD "Smooth operation" must be included in the update.
Sokrates,
Greetings from Greece.
