chevyssmc01:

I have a 3g with 900BT, I found using the Mac Component Cable was the way for me go regarding video. The only thing I will caution you with is that the video does not fill the 900BT screen, might be perfect for the D3

Hope it helps...

That will work but with no onscreen control of the ipod from the D3.

Hey ! I ain't no stinkin PC ! Not that there's anything wrong with it . Hey Thanks for the help Mac . So I take it your talking about the apple Component AV Cable ? the one I have has 5 RCA outs and a usb out how would one hook that up ? I have a USB module and a iPod module .

Actually you need the composite cable. It has RCA connectors for the audio and video that you will connect to the AV1 input on the back of the D3. The dock connector obviously will connect to the Iphone/ipod and the USB connector will connect to a USB cigaret lighter adapter.

but still cannot control it via the d3 for video

question about the dock > RCA cable:

i seem to recall seeing one that had a power source that could be hooked up, but (as im sure most of you are aware) having your ipod plugged in to a power source for too long/too often etc, is not healthy for the battery.

im wondering if there is a way to toggle the power on/off.

thoughts?

Just get a USB cigarette lighter adapter for the USB portion of the Apple Composite AV Cable. Unplug it when you don't want to have it charge.

ah, sorry, i didnt mean to insinuate that i am getting the apple composite cable since i only have an RCA input available on my D3. this is the one was looking at:

http://www.autotoys.com/x/product.php?productid=11455

it was recommended in another thread and it seems to be the most reasonable and affordable way to get video off an ipod.

edit: i do have a double USB charger for the cigg outlet

Well in that case you could install a switch inline with the power wire.

Just letting everyone know that if you have a jailbroken iPhone, go to cydia and download a program called Reenabler. It alows the dock cable from the d3 to work with video. The app does cost 1.99 but itwas a small price to pay.

Posted Jan 11, 2010 · 15:16 UTC#15

Please clarify that title. There is no app by that name in Cydia.

Posted Jan 11, 2010 · 16:51 UTC#16

Its called Resupported. Sorry for the mixup.

Posted Jan 11, 2010 · 17:18 UTC#17

There is also a free app called Landscape TV OUT that gives a lot more control. I don't if it will work for this purpose however. It does offer the same support as Resupported though. BTW, damn good find sir. This is going to make you the hero of the D3 crowd. If you would, start a new thread for this topic and I will sticky it.

I was able to get my iPhone 3g video working on my wife's 900bt by starting up the iPod app on the iPhone before plugging the iPhone into the ipod cord. It works just like it does when my ipod video is plugged in.

I started a new thread. If you wanna sticky it that would be great......Thanks......

Hi all,

I'm new here but thought I can shed some light on this subject (playing video w/audio throught D3). I have 3G, unlocked and jailbroken. I found two apps on Cydia that works for me. First one works flawlessly. It's called "Resupported". This app costs $2.99 (i think). Well worth it. The other is free but has lots of settings to tweak with to get it working properly.

I bought Resupported. Plug the D3's ipod cable, select VIDEO at the menu on D3 and it's on,with full audio. Video was played through iPhone's Ipod app. I even get on-screen controls on headunit of basic forward, backwards, stop/play. Haven't tried any other media players yet. Downside is, the cable still does not charge 3G. It worked on my 2G in the past. I read that has something to do with Apple changing the voltage to 5 volts on 3G as the 3G took 12 volts. I could be wrong.

Hope this helps!

I believe he meant to say Resupported the description sound like that is it. Anyone try this?

Posted Apr 28, 2010 · 18:44 UTC#22

Yes and it does work.

Posted Sep 08, 2010 · 23:50 UTC#23

actually I got it working with my iPhone 3GS iOS4.0.1 from Cydia source CENSORED and download "Resupported4 Cracked" and also you need from Cydia source CENSORED and download "DisplayOut" version 1.2

The weird thing is that I can't get the videos to come up the correct aspect ratio.

Do not post info on this forum pertaining to cracked iPhone/Cydia apps.

Sorry VBLUE42. Wasn't thinking there.

Anyways, I ended up using TVOut2 Mirror TVOut since DisplayOut didn't work as well. When I play videos it plays sideways and stretched. Everything else on DisplayOut works except for the videos. TVOut2 works great and it has more options/flexibility.
