Another file with US (NA) speed cameras. No guarantees on accuracy, but it is pretty large...

speedcam.txt

Posted Feb 18, 2009 · 23:07 UTC#2

I assume this data to put towards the red light speed cam thread at http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19523.

Should these values be added or overwritten to those in either the Red_Light_Camera_us.txt or Speed_Trap.txt files or both?

Thank you in advance.

So replace, but replace what? I assume that the mod for turning on the features is looking for those specific file names. And I am not sure if both files are supposed to have the same info, or what your file pertains to; red lights or speed traps (Red_Light_Camera_us.txt or Speed_Trap.txt respectively).

This is combined file with speed and redlight casmeras.

iGO does not care what the file is called, as long as it is a .TXT file and placed in the speedcam directory, it will process it.

It is usually recommended to delete all other files from there though...

Good to know. But it wouldn't hurt to have it in there with the others then.

Thanks

Shouldn't. For what it's worth, I can see more cameras here in Chicago and they seem to be coded more correctly...

So where are you supposed to put this file and/or load it into the unit?

trying to download this mod and I am getting nothing but a page full of computer script. I am thinking that the link might be broken.

Never mind had a retard moment. Just now about the speed trap info. Where to find that? I have searched and searched, found nothing. No list to add to the files

The file in the first post _is_ the speedtrap info.

So the speed cam info works for the speed trap info as well? Because that is what the first file of the post is, speed cam. The last thing is, how do I add this to the system file, the line should read what? Beacause I have all that for the speed cam.

If somebody had entered speed trap info in there, then yes... There being 36537 cameras, I would think it likely...

Is there any line that needs to added to the line script in the system files to turn this feature on?, or not?

I'm not sure how accurate this file is, as far as I know Minnesota doesn't have any speed cameras but with the new file there are now four of them on my way to/from work. Also I went to my cousins the other day and ran into one on a dirt road. I do know we have some red light cameras, but I think those have recently been disabled by the courts..

It is not just speed cameras, but speed traps, such as places marked highly likely for a cop to be waiting to nab you.

Just place the file as is into the IG0/Content/Speedcam directory. Did you also make sure you had speedcam_enabled = 1 in the SYS.TXT file under the [debug] section?

I'm confused now. I am using mikegedge's data.zip from http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20651 and in that thread it states that speedcam's are enabled. that line is not in its SYS.TXT file. I copied the speedcam.txt file to its proper home, and went into the avic navi settings and it shows speedcams enabled with audio and visual alerts.

So is there someplace else that speedcams can be enabled? Or are mine really not enabled? I really cant test it here as I know there are none near me, and I would prefer to have this working before I head into Chicago today where I know there are several cams!

If DATA.ZIP lets you turn on camera warnings, that should be good enough. For a check, open up a map of Chicago, let's say Lake Shore Drive and Fullerton (or Belmont). If you see little camera icons on the map, you are fine.
