Boris,

Do you have the updated map for the District of Columbia?

Thanks

All I have should be in the post... DC should be included in US maps on the first page...

Hey Boris... This might be noob, but i havent gotten a chance to try it yet, these maps seem awesome and all and i only downloaded CA. thinking these were gonna be pretty small... but it turns out, they are like nearly a gig or something.

Well this fit into our systems fine? and im guessing we can only fit 1 or two states huh?

Posted Mar 03, 2009 · 06:06 UTC#28

so I just downloaded California and Nevada...

How do I go about updating my maps?

I assume Test Mode...

but do I unzip the CA and NV maps, and copy them over?

And which directory do I copy them over to?

Map files (.FBL) are about the same as stock ones. Still, you need to back up your existing map files (just in case) then copy new FBL files into MAP folder. Entire US/Canada fits with room left over.

I'm assuming we have to rename the new one the same as the old .fbl file correct?

Not really, iGO will look at all FBL files, determine if you have a license for them, then use the latest map for any given region it has.

OK, what do I need to get UK 10/2008 map to run?

EZRIDER hack?

Licence file?

And if so, where do I get em?

I have searched, but I can't grasp this. Mental block methinks.....

They should both be posted somewhere in this forum ;) Probably in using Euro maps on AVIC thread...

Thanks Boris, but I eventually found what I needed, think I'm spending too much time on my mods and my head's getting crammed!

Dropped Licence and EZRIDER into Avic and now I've got 2008/10 maps running :D

After thinking about it I reckon it will be hardly noticeable TBH Boris, that's assuming the only difference between maps is actual changes in existing roads/highways, addition of new roads/settlements etc.. As far as I can tell the appearance of the new map is the same as the old one, but that will be down to the skin and theme.

Anyways, it's gotta be better running newer rather than older maps, so I'm happy it's done now :D

Indeed... Maps do not have any appearance data in them. Still, there's enough road construction going on to make new maps useful. Also, I'd expect things like speed limits, house numbers, etc. to be improved with each release.

It is noticeable me for me, I'm now using the 2008.10 UK maps and they include 2 new major road changes that were not in the stock maps.

how would we know if we have the latest DEM files and building files?

Posted Mar 05, 2009 · 05:02 UTC#42

Are the POI files working for anyone? So far I've only done Minnesota, but the POI file didn't work. The map works fine however, basically i looked for a restaurant today near my current location and the nearest one was 40 miles away. I looked at some of the other POI's and realized they were in Wisconsin, so I threw in the SD card and used my backup POI file and all is good again. Would kind of like to get the new file working though, any ideas?

Not loaded mine yet, I'll do it tonight and see if they work for me, but remember I'm in UK

I just tried the danish map and it seems to work alright - so i guess I'll spend the evening downloading the rest of them...

I try to get Germany 10.2008 work. I replaced Map, Pois and worldwide lic.

Does not work, no german map is displayed :?

Same Problem with 5.2008

Did i forget something?`

1. Make sure you're using iGO 8.0 maps, not iGO 8.3.

2. Try a different license file. I've posted a whole bunch of them....
