Will the software bypass interfere with anything since I already have the hardware bypass done?

Nope. I have both on mine. No issues.

great work! this was really simple and easy to do, all i had to do was pop in a sd card... i was really surprised to find out that it would be that easy, thanks!

Thanks. I took my time and tried to make it idiot-proof...

But as always, someone manages to prove me wrong. :-)

New samantha file is almost done. Route numbers are spoken properly now. No more "prepare to" either.

A few more tweaks and I will post it as a self-installer of just the voice. A 2MB quickie to install.

Use 7zip to extract and preferably Firefox to DL. Be sure to hit "save to disk" and not "open from current location". The file is fine.

Just wondering, is there a way to make the clock like your old CMH file. Or atleast change it from the lime green color because I do not necessarly like that color.

The speed limit signs and turn restrictions occupy that space now. The color can be changed to whatever you like, though. find:

and change the "color=" to whatever HEX color you want from here: http://www.colorschemer.com/online.html

The green I chose matches the one used for Turn Distances shown above it.

Where do I find this string to change the color? In which file? And once I update it, can I use the test mode auto installer to update it or should I do it manually?

Nice mod, still testing it out. Excellent job in the settings menus. Is the robot warning gone now? I just integrated my navigate 800_480.ui file with yours and I am getting an error message. I think i know the reason why, it is because I didnt want your speed limit sign so I didnt add this part of your file

";<> Start

;<> End"

So now I get this error message see picture. Is there something i need to comment out in the navigate.ui file?

I also need to adjust the turn restriction sign, so that it lines up with my compass. Would i just use the same y value as the compass?

I attached my navigate 800_480.ui file, mabe you could take a look when you have time?

Otherwise everything works nicely. It worked easier than I thought. It is a combination of the original file I have posted on your FTP with your latest files. I am still testing the voices out, at first I didn't like the new voices but now i think it is growing on me.

Great job thanks for the help

one more question sorry. what is cache=2048 in the sys.txt file and what does that do?

Thank you

Posted Apr 08, 2009 · 23:08 UTC#84

Although not trying to help, gnasr74 led me to the following file where I found a similar string:

ui_pioneer\800_480\ui\navigatemap_800_480.ui

Is this the file that needs to be modified in the data.zip for changes in the font color?

**Would it be a bad idea to search for all the 03EE2A colors in the above file and change them all to red (FF0A0A)??

I know this will change more than the clock...

I would also like to bring back the original location of text for the street you are on. What code do i change for that? thank you

also in the voice folder in content, is that the modified samantha voice. If so, i dont know if it worked when i transferred it into my unit from the setup menu, so i was wondering if i can just take it and copy it into the same folder in my avic unit. Do i delete the file that is there and replace it with this TTS file?

What is the transportm.ttf font for?

thank you

NO!!! Just go in test mode go to your flash drive ,look for in the IGO AND JUST EDIT THE SYS , change the frist line, to look the make it look like this ( [device]

type="PIONEER749UC" this work with all DATA HACKS .good luck :D

I adjusted the turn restriction sign and now it lines up with my compass. got that to work. one down.

Posted Apr 09, 2009 · 03:37 UTC#89

i noticed you wrote this to IDT but i still have the regular compass. do i have to put this back in?

PS. Check your browsemap.ui and comment out the vsp_compass and spr_compass lines since you use the linear compass now. Doesn't hurt to kill the spr_battery one there either.

Gnasr,

If you're in doubt about a script, especially a layer, just change the x to a value that would place it off screen. like x=1000.

Search nm8x4 for "actualstreetname" and change "align=" from "center" to "left".

This will make the time look like an address, though. Hence the centering and color change.

The lines in browsemap are optional when using the OEM compass, but MUST be commented out to use the linear compass.

I've given directions on the easiest way to install samantha several times, just read back a few pages.

Redmilk,

I believe this remark was intended for F500 users and has nothing to do with the voice question GNasr asked. he uses an F900, i believe.

Anyone wanting to try a new voice mod? I have finished my latest round of changes to samantha.

This is a self-installer for US models. Unzip two folders to root of SD card.

Put it into avic and turn the key on. When you see a big green box, remove SD card and turn the key off.

Installed the MOD last night everything so far works great...LOVE IT! One question...The little dot for the GPS moves acurately...But the arrow seems to lag behind really slowly. I have a TOM TOM and Garmin and they move right on the mark. Is there anything that can be done to speed up the respone time for the arrow? Thanks!

does this mod have newer maps in it? I thought I read in another thread that someone mentioned CMH's mod had the newer maps, either 2008.1 or 2008.4

Posted Apr 09, 2009 · 13:32 UTC#95

no newer maps - look in the thread of mine 2008.4 i posted where to get the newer maps

Good work once again. And a couple nice touches:

recalulate="Stop ignoring me!"

ask_recalulate="Off route! Recalculate?"

offroute="Doh!"

traffic_jam="Look out. Bad drivers ahead."

overspeed="In a hurry?"

:lol:

I dont know why I am getting answers for the TTS, I am not having a problem with Samanatha, that works great and I know how to install based on your previous comments. thank you

as far as the browsemap.ui, are you saying that I don't even need that code even if I do use the OEM compass, so it doesn't really matter if I have that?

what is cache=2048 in the sys.txt file and what does that do?

Thank you

Keeps the TTS voice from stuttering. All the compass scripts do is make it show or hide depending on map screen displayed. No big deal.

For the guy thinking his arrow lags, did you use the unit WITHOUT mods to get used to how it works? Do you have all the 3D settings maxxed out? What zoom level are you at? What colorscheme are you using? Are you playing music from the SD card? All these things greatly affect rendering speed. Your TomTom isn't doing half the things in the background that the Avic is, let alone 3D buildings and terrain details. Plus the TomTom is driving 1/4 as many pixels (480 x 272 or less) vs (800x480).

Finally got all of GTIMatt's latest wave of changes integrated. Need to test drive and I will post links later. Basically they just give yet more options on what can be changed/ disabled in the settings menus.

- A new custom subscreen under Navi Settings > Visual.

- Moved the US/Euro speed limit style option to the custom menu

- Added option to turn off showing turn restrictions to the custom menu

- Added option to turn off showing the zoom/tilt buttons when clicking on the map in 3d mode to the custom menu (MUCH welcomed)

The other mods he did already existed in my version before.

The all-in-ones will include my newest SamTTS.

Wow this mod is absolutely excellent! It made this a brand new unit as far as im concerned, and it puts Pioneers design team to shame, they should be ashamed considering how really truly excellent work modders with spare time, for free can do.

Quite frankly, I was ready to buy a new Kenwood, so as far as im concerned, you guys (modders) just saved me over a thousand bucks!

Now if i can just get some up to date maps. Pioneer can't even seem to provide those...

Can pioneer do anything besides take our money, haha. It's pitiful.

Really truly excellent for all those responsible, thank you!
