As minor hack (it is really configuration setting) only editing these two files you can obtain quite important customization that could improve your navigation experience.
Therefore I believe that this thread can help to newbies that could have fears about deeper hacks effect (i.e. changing data.zip). In fact, I am one of these guys.
AVIC navigation program EZRIDER.exe is a iGO8.0 customisation and hence most (if not all) what has been posted on iGO8 forums about sys.txt changes can apply.
Sys.txt and EZRIDER.exe are both in \APL2\iGo folder.
Only as example adding the following line will remove the annoying dings every time that a instruction is given.
[sound] ding=0
or the following lines will allow yo to change the maximum tilt level (i.e. to see the horizon)
[map] 3d_max_tiltlevel=9000
Therefore there is a great numbers of customization only changing the content of Sys.txt. From PDA iGO8 forums I let you attached a huge sys.txt for your information.
Anyhow it is to mention that sys.txt is the start configuration and the saved configuration (the one that the program will start is saved in system.ini located in \USER\UserData\iGo\save.
I mean some of the parameters in the sys.txt are overrulled by the setting you did in the navigation program that are stored in system.ini (i.e. the language selected). On this file, on iGO8 you can select also what are your different view settings (zoom, tilt, etc.).
I am now testing some changes but if anyone want to test also or others reply with his experience on this thread they will be welcomed.
Cheers
