Which rapid share file is the canadian one? I dont want to download all of them just the one i would like to use?

Posted Sep 28, 2009 · 13:58 UTC#27

Do you need a different license to use these maps?

I get an error about the license file....

Well, this sucks! I copied the file over and it has filled up my entire flash drive and I cannot add the DEM file as it says there is NOT ENOUGH SPACE! Does anybody have the DEM file installed? How important is it, as the file is 175mb? If it is important, I will have to delete a lot of US maps (which I dont really want to do :()

Did you put in the hacked ezrider for 3.0 and several different license files?

Posted Sep 30, 2009 · 00:28 UTC#35

no? Just put the canadian file in there

Updating the maps other than through purchasing them from Pioneer is a hack, so if you choose to go that route you'll need the hacked ezrider for 3.0 and some license files. Search the forum to find them.

i bought the update and have it installed.

It's not the firmware update IDT is referring to it's the maps themselves. If you got them from a non pioneer scource they are hacked. You will need to install the hacked ezrider file and the generic license. Both files are available on here in an earlier thread. :)

Okay, what's the deal with these maps?

I downloaded all 16 parts and 15 of them are duplicates?

WTF?

Thanx,

Bud

It is a self extractor that automatically extracts all 16 parts after you just extract part 1. In other words, extract part 1 and that is it!

Got it!

Thanx :)

I just want to be clear how to use this

I am running the latest IDT Mod with 3.01. I have all of the files listed and extracted locally.

1) Boot into CE and Backup all files

2) Rename all map files and copy to APL2\iGo\CONTENT\MAP

3) Rename all building files (*.3dl) and copy to APL2\iGo\CONTENT\BUILDING

4) Rename all POI files and copy to APL2\iGo\CONTENT\POI

5) Rename .dem file and copy to APL2\iGo\CONTENT\DEM

6) Copy the latest EZRider file to APL2\iGo

http://rapidshare.de/files/48133221/ezrider.rar.html

7) Copy the generic license (GENERIC_iGO8_WorldWide@801Product) to APL2\iGo\LICENSE

http://www.gpssoftware.us/avic/newez4avic.zip

8) Reboot and try it!

Also, there is new speedcam data, but it is STXT and the file on AVIC is a SPUD file. Can this be converted?

Thanks!

What do you mean "rename" the maps. You can't use them as-is with the hacked EZrider?

Or will I have to drop the "83TA_2009.06_090710" off of each and just rename them the same as the current file(s)?

Thanx,

Bud

I just blasted the older version map and copied the new one with the same name as before and, Viola!

I get into the "about" screen and click on th map versions and it shows the new California map (2009.06) and the rest are 2008.10. Thanx Boris!

So i put in all these maps, works great. The interstate that just extended a few extra miles near my house a few months back is in there, so these are definitely the latest and greatest. The only file I didn't replace was the "basemap."

Should this basemap be updated with another copy? Does it matter? Can I delete it? I'm not 100% clear on it's purpose.

Software needs basemap to be there, but unless a new continent is discovered or new country springs up somewhere in your vicinity you don't really need to upgrade it...

OK. So it sounds like it just defines the boundaries around the states, and the other map files just fill in the gaps.

Thanks Boris. :D

Pretty much so. If you zoom out all the way, you'd see the globe with landmasses and country borders on it. This comes from basemap...

Oops, I deleted basemap. Guess I better put that back!
