when you look at the map version after installing them what does it say? I just want to know before I install them because I believe I already have them. Thanks

I've dowloaded all the files, used password to unzip them. Once I unzip them I can see two folders - "buildings" and "dem". I have no problem copying or opening folder buildings, however, when I try to copy folder "dem" which contains file "NorthAmerica_low_2008_03_25.dem*" it starts copying (in reality as I understand it fully unzips it now) and than it stops and keeps asking me for the password over and over again. What is wrong with it? I thought I only need to enter password once.

Thanks worked great with the updated Igo from copying the ACT2 folder x910bt.zip and patching

on my Pioneer AVIC F500BT means i don't really need to get leetlauncher.

I downloaded this file, but what do I do with it? When I unzip it, it shows one file total "83_Cont_USA_2009.06_TA.nzb" and this file is only 307,188. The total size files that I download from the "passworded" link is 228,995,205.

What am I missing? I really want to upgrade my maps, but keep missing something out in the file download process.

Please help. Thank you.

The nzb file points to the locations of the files on usenet that can be used by some newsreaders (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison ... ewsreaders) to quickly find and download news group files. So once you DL the .nzb, you still need to connect and DL the actual files from usenet using a supported reader. GrabIt is a free file grabber that can use .nzb files on Windows (I personally use NewsLeecher, but it does cost 20 USD). Note that even using the .nzb you will need access to a news server (your ISP may or may not provide one - they seem to be phasing out news support).

Your other option is to manually search and find the files:

83_Cont_USA_2009.06_TA.rar

83_Cont_USA_2009.06_TA.r00

83_Cont_USA_2009.06_TA.r01

83_Cont_USA_2009.06_TA.r02 all the way to 83_Cont_USA_2009.06_TA.r15

on Rapidshare or other file sharing service.

Good luck

I finally figured out how to use grabit service, but now all of these files are not hosted :-(. My grabit keep telling me that it is unable to connect to these 83_... files.

Do i need to put the testmode and winCE files on the SD as well? Also i downloaded all 16 files but they're in a ".rar" format. Is this correct or do i need to unzip these somehow?

updated my maps per directions.

Question, does this generic license enable 3d buildings? Right now all i see are landmarks. I'm running Daftia's latest mods.

Try here.

I don't think it makes any difference who's mod you are using to get this to work.

There are other license files posted on here somewhere. They are small, so having more than 1 will not hurt anything.

I originally posted in that thread. the license file in that thread is the same as the one in this thread. Ok maybe im missing something here, how many buildings should i be seeing? Im in atlanta right now and there may be about 10 buildings that show up, but i think those are the landmark buildings.

based on the these two threads it seems that it could be my sys.txt file or the color scheme.

Simulate a route through the center of los angeles. There should be buildings everywhere.

Is there any other sources for the updated maps? I downloaded all 16 files and got a CRC error message. After double checking the password I figure I must have a corrupted file. I am not waiting 45 seconds and typing a code for each downloaded file again. Comcast also has no news server, so I can't use the nzb file. (edit -- I did try downloading the part 1 file again (and from another source), but get the same error, so either the password is wrong or maybe a corrupt file has replicated through the file sharing sites??)

This forum is great and I really appreciate the effort put forth by those who contribute (thanks LTDan), but these download sites are retarded. I don't do that kind of stuff often enough to justify a membership, and since one such site I signed up for years ago kept charging my credit card for over a year with me calling them month after month to cancel, I just don't bother with them anymore.

Enough whinning, though, is there another source of the maps, or perhaps a torrent?

Alternatively, can I buy upgraded maps from IGO8 or Pioneer? I saw that Pioneer has updates, but since I did the 3.0 upgrade on my F900BT, would I have to order the maps for an X910BT?

Thanks

Dude i think this is the only way, I did see another post about navteq maps but i think you lose the highway signs functionality. Did you make sure the password was CAPS?

You are a hero; it was the caps issue; it seemed like a password thing, can't believe I missed the "in all caps."

Thanks

Hi, i have the X910bt, i have made a backup of my maps and am ready to copy the new ones. Do the names of the files have to be the same? Because the ones that are on the x910bt right now are called, for example: USA_Indiana.fbl and the ones from the download are called, for example: USA_Indiana83TA_2009.06_090710.fbl

I just dont want to mess anything up

Oh yeah, before i forget, does anyone have the modified samantha tts files that dont make samantha sound so robotic?

Thanks,

Zach
