Bummer.. the link to download the newez4avic.zip file no longer works. Anyone know of a different source for this file? (Edit).. The link is back up.. hooray!!
Although that link is up.. it looks like the password for unzipping the .rar files is hit and miss. I tried to unzip the "83_Cont_USA_2009.06_TA.part01.rar" file and it errors out half way through the uznip. The password is initially accepted (and yes.. I typed it in all caps), and the date uncompresses but after about 10 seconds when the unzip is almost done I get an error that says.
"CRC field in encrypted file '83_Cont_USA_2009.6_TA\content\dem\NorthAmerica_low_2008_03_25.dem'. Wrong password.
Same problem with the prt02.rar...

Here you go, I just upped it to my rapidshare. Along with it are the License files you will need to get new maps to work.
When i try to download the 16 files from the link it says the files are unavailable, anyone have a copy I can get?
Dude i think this is the only way, I did see another post about navteq maps but i think you lose the highway signs functionality.
Hmmmm... I live in Canada, and the Navtea maps does provide highway signs, but the TA map doesn't.

Can anyone provide insight on the details of the TeleAtlas maps and Navteq maps?
I just want to keep one set of maps on my AVIC, but the trouble is, here in Canada with the TeleAtlas maps provided by Pioneer, I don't have any highway signs, while the Navteq does. But the TeleAtlas maps seems to be more detailed (bigger) for both Canada and the USA.
Does both maps provided highway signs in the USA?
Anyone has something to share regarding their experience with navigation in Canada?

I installed this and a couple of other mods, compass delete route, mute button and disable navi warnings.
For some reason when i go into system information to view the map version it shows a bunch of diagnostic options including the option to launch windows explorer? Any advice appreciated?

The bunch of options are from the Nav Nag Message Remover that you have installed in the APL folder 
.
Nice, I guess I should read up on what I install, I thought what I installed was only removing the warning messages

Unless there are some new countries appearing, or continents suddenly rearranging themselves, 2007 basemap is perfectly fine.

Search for license file in this forum. There are many and some are generic, so you can use them.
