I only just noticed that Pioneer had brought out a new firmware, v3.020200, in early December. However this firmware is for AVIC-F700BT and AVIC-F900BT which are updated with CNSD-100FM. My understanding is that the CNSD thing is the legit v3 update?

Anyone know if the 3.020200 update works on F900BTs that are running the other v3 firmware? Think I am on 3.0001 or something like that (a very early v3).

yes, use only the second sd card and it works flawlessly. if you use first card it asks for pass code from pioneer. just update by booting from second sd card and then use tutorial for getting 2009.6 maps and you are as up to date as possible (i think) worked for me. i goggled pioneer cnsd.... torrent found a link for cnsd.... torrent and downloaded via utorrent and i had no problems at all. i owe all to Diaftia and i am no expert but i tried for days to get to 3.02.... and this is the only thing that was as easy as a factory firmware (do it all for you) solution without paying. if you think tihs is misinformation i apologize but it worked for me as soon as i skipped first sd and booted directly from 2nd.

My first post, so again thank to Diaftia who is pretty much the absolute man IMHO.

oh, this was on f900bt that is 10 times better now thanks to Diaftia

Posted Jan 14, 2010 · 04:02 UTC#4

Would it work on an F90BT too?

Posted Jan 14, 2010 · 13:00 UTC#5

i dont see why not the differences are limited. the pre out voltages are higher and thats about it if i am not mistaken

Dear Hube2002,

I tried googling CNSD-100FM and CNSD but cannot find any torrent file for this. Can you give me a link? And wasit for a US version or EU?

Many thanks.

Here's the link for the torrent site with the Pioneer 3.0 update (CNSD-100FM) Super quick download. So if what your saying is true I can boot with the second disk first and this will update my unit to 3.02?? I currently have 2.0 installed as of now. I didn't think there was any way around the password protection...

I have the F90bt runnung 2.0 , you are saying that this up grade will work without any issues, do i have to back anything up, please be patient im new to this

No, I don't think it will work. You need to update to the latest version of WinCE to use 3.0.

Could anyone please tell me if this update will work for a US System? Or this is only for EU models?

Posted Jan 20, 2010 · 20:39 UTC#12

i just noticed the new 3.02 version update. I currently have the F900bt and I am using the X910 3.01 firmware version with 3.0 winCE.

1. Will this work with the version that was downloaded through this forum?

2. Do i just download this file and put the sd card in and follow the instructions on the website?

Please advise. thank you.

Didn't work for me with the unofficial update. Probably because it thinks the head unit is an X series now. Not a problem, I just copied the files manually, installed hacked ezrider.exe (so I can use my 2009 maps) and Diaftas mod and it seems to be working ok. One thing I noticed though was this upgrade seems to have a newer version of wince on it. How do I upgrade wince?

Hi all

Is this torrent a hacked version? Can I just use it to upgrade my F900BT EU unit from 2.009000?

Many thanks

Can someone answer this? I bought the original V3 update during the presale so i think i have the early 3.000x version on my US f900. Where is this even at on the pioneer website?

The method below is for European / UK AVIC-F900BT units and if you are in any doubt, DO NOT DO THIS!!!!

This was the only way I could go from 3.0101 (or whatever) as the 3.020200 update would not run directly.

Download the EU version of 3.000300 from link viewtopic.php?f=34&t=26625&p=182800

You will get 3 files with the names, you will need to rename them to extract them :

avic f900_700_500 ver_3.000300(part1).rar -> avic f900_700_500 ver_3.000300.rar

avic f900_700_500 ver_3.000300(part2).rar -> avic f900_700_500 ver_3.000301.rar

avic f900_700_500 ver_3.000300(part3).rar -> avic f900_700_500 ver_3.000302.rar

You will then need to download the 2.3 Testmode from :

download/file.php?id=8932

You will need 2gb SD Card for the next part

Extract the TESTMODE_v2.3.rar to the root of the SD Card

Extract the archive avic f900_700_500 ver_3.000300.rar to the root of the SD card

Your SD Card root directory will look like

Testmode

My Flash Disk

Boot from the SD Card in your F900BT unit, you will be presented with the Windows Mobile desktop.

Open Explorer and locate the "MY Flash Disk" on the main unit (not the My Flash Disk on the Storage Card) and delete everything from inside it. ONCE YOU HAVE REACHED THIS POINT,DO NOT SWITCH OFF UNTIL YOU HAVE COMPLETED THIS TUTORIAL.

Navigate to the Storage Card and into the "My Flash Disk" directory. Select EDIT and SELECT ALL, then select EDIT and COPY.

Navigate back to your "My Flash Disk" inside the main unit and select EDIT and PASTE.

Wait 15 minutes for it to complete, and once done you can restart the unit. You can then update to 3.020200 using the standard Pioneer update.

Once complete you will have a vanilla F900BT running 3.020200 with the 2008.10 Maps. You can then use any other method to customise and/or update the maps to 2009.10.

You can't use the "avic f900_700_500 ver_3.000300(part1).rar" archives because these are for the EU F900BT, but the same process would work if you can find an old US backup that is version 3.000300.

The process I have listed above is how to downgrade an EU unit from 3.010100 to 3.000300, to then allow you to upgrade to 3.020200. Also you may need to ensure that the WinCE image is at least the same version as used in 3.000300 before starting my process above.

I suggest you refer to one of the other guides for install V3 firmware in a V2 unit. Perhaps thread viewtopic.php?f=34&t=25751

In theory, using the process in the link above, but at step one use the files in the archive "avic f900_700_500 ver_3.000300(part1).rar " instead. Again this is for EU units only.
