HOLLY SHIT the Z120BT hasn't been announced yet so that should not have been on the site to where anyone could access it. I downloaded it and will be posting it here in case they realize it and pull it. GREAT FIND.
This is the PDF download on the Z120BT manual.
That is pretty kewl...
Although, like the previous Z's.... I figure the Z120BT will sport the same hardware with a software tweak to include the Pandora and Cube thing-a-ma-jigs...
Available as an upgrade disk(for us 110BT) via Pioneer for a price...
[edit]^^^^ I called it a Cube... when in fact it's called Music Sphere ![]()
Looks like its the Z120 and X920, not 9120. Wish they would've spent more time improving the nav instead of cluttering it up more with the fuel economy thingy

Yea i was pretty excited i found this. cant say ive ever been the first to find anything before. It took me a while to finally find it.
I also saved a PDF copy before i posted...just incase pioneer yanked it. ![]()

Type-o... My bad...
Trying to do a little digging on my own...
Looks like this site made a boo-boo, in which must have gotten Pioneer's attention...

This post previously referred to the AVIC-Z120BT. However, Pioneer’s Corporate Communications department informed us that the unit that passed through the FCC is actually the AVIC-X920BT, which was introduced at CES on January 6. References to the AVIC-Z120BT in this post have therefore been replaced with the AVIC-X920BT.
Thats funny because it clearly shows pics of the Z in the manual.
Woah, gotta love that leak.
I'm LOVING the new left side audio interface...
Clearly since both models are sharing the manual they will have same functionality.
I did a quick search for any mentions of one unit being able to do something the other unit cant.
I searched "avic-z120BT only" and these are the things that the X920BT can't do:
1. Adjusting the LCD Panel Angle
2. Setting the detailed City Map - You can select whether to display city maps in certain metropolitian areas. The city map is displayed when the map scale is .05miles (50meters) or less.
3. Displaying 3D Landmarks
4. Selecting the video for rear display

Yea me too. its certainly an improvement on the current AV screen.
Hopefully us Z110 owners will be able to download or buy an update to the Z120 software! ![]()
I dont see why not. This is the same path they took with the previous Z series.
I like the use of flicking for the menu scrolling. The refreshed XM interface is welcome too. However, how many years am I going to have to wait until I can locate a POI along route? Seriously, I used a $100 GPS in my rental car while on vaca in FL this past Christmas and that thing had a LOT of nice features that the Z doesn't have. Like finding POIs that are specifically right off of exits, in my direction, etc. I'm happy to hear that us Z110 owners will most likely get this new software, but their flagship NAVIGATION unit should be a bit more robust for the navi part.
I agree, thats the one thing I miss about my F-series. Seems like they need to hire more talented programmers that can figure out how to make it happen on the Z. The phone number lookup and branded POI icons they had about five years ago would be a nice touch too. (Gas mileage and an alert when I accelerate quickly...not so much!)

I have requested that feature be added in a future update.
So would it be safe bet and CHEAPER to just buy a Z110BT now? and wait for the software upgrade to essentially turn it into a Z120BT? Has this been a general practice for avic's?
Yes very likely, with the previous Z series, Pioneer carried the same hardware unit for almost five years. They updated the software with every yearly map upgrade bringing a new model number with it each time. So it is assumed that along with the release of the Z120BT, we will get the same software in the first map upgrade bringing the 110 up to a 120.
When do you think we will see the update for the 110? Are all these coming out soon? April? Can't wait to get the updates...
Probably within about 90 days.
That was an awesome find... What do they usually charge for their updates? 100.00 or so?
Usually $120-$150 retail

In your opinion, this update will include ALL of the updates on the new Z120BT/X920BT and essentially make the Z110BT into the 2010 model? What I am worried about is whether it will have the new 3d GUI with the scrolling and such. The new XM/Sirius interface. I assumed the Musicsphere and Pandora would be added but I am wondering if it will have all the other 'stuff' too? I wish I knew for sure. If I did, I would be going after the Z110BT right now.It just seems like such a huge variance in alot of ways. I was also wondering if these new units sported exactly the same voice recognition software as the Z110BT or is it upgraded too? I looked over both user manuals and it does look very similar but I want to make sure. I guess there probably is no way to be certain until these new units actually hit the market tho. It is a crying shame these units didn't include the same FM tuner as the new dvd line from Pioneer with the ITunes tagging and RDS tuner. I'm disappointed but, with all the other nice features of these new units and the fact I listen to radio less all the time, I think I can live with it.
If the two share the same manual, they will have the same features with the Z having priority over the X for most advanced features. According to the manual, the answers to your questions is yes.
