You should make sure you have everything downloaded before starting.....

1.. Wince - This is used to update the operating system of your] headunit

2.. Testmode - This is used to access the unit so you can get to the files.

3.. Flashdisk - This holds the pioneer application which you see when you start the unit off.

You need to install them in this order. Make sure you have a 2GB SD card and have the folder 'flashdisk' ready to copy over via the windows CE desktop on your unit. This is why Testmomde is used, so you can get to the desktop.

hope this helps

just from memory to use a new map you need to change the launcher or the program to start it off. think thats right.. it has been a few months since I did it. Have a search on here I'm sure there's something about it. It's where I found it :-)

Hi Steve,

Do you know if it would be possible to reverse the process should something go wrong on not work? to be honest im not very good with these things and also unlucky! im wondering if i can go back to original setup if all fails, or eventually use an original upgrade to the cnsd-200fm for instance.

Thanks

Honestly, if you aren't willing to at least search the forum to find out how to back up your existing files, maybe upgrading isn't something you should be doing..

The units just like a computer really. You have your operating system, in this case Windows CE and pioneers software.

As standard the unit is set to load the pioneer software as default, you can if you wish use the testmode sd to bypass this default and go to the operating system. From here you can 'backup' the flashdrive folder. (flashdrive is just the name of the folder) This is the pioneer software.

The most important thing is upgrading the WinCE part. This is like formatting your laptop and reinstalling windows 7. Once this is done you can play around with the pioneer software. :-)

Let me know how you get on. I'm still yet to install my unit in my car... tis a very special Murcielago kitcar it's going in.... one day :-)

Hi Steve,

Thanks for this great tutorial, tried it yesterday evening, works like a charm :D

Anyone done this with an Australia unit (with aussie maps)?

If not am i able to install the 3.0 firware and keep the old maps?

Cheers.

1. latest WinCE version from 3.0202 EU.. http://www.cdrpro.co.uk/wince.zip

2. Testmode 2.3.. http://www.cdrpro.co.uk/testmode.zip

2. Copy of 3.000303 Flash drive.. viewtopic.php?f=34&t=26625&p=182800#p182768 (I had to use the par files to correct the croupt data)

3. Upgrade 3.00202 from pioneers website.. http://www.pioneer.eu/files/support/avi ... 020200.zip

In this you mentioned you need a copy of 3.000303 flash drive aswell as upgrade version 3.00202 from pioneers website. Do i really need to get both of these or what?

Posted Aug 14, 2010 · 18:13 UTC#42

yep.. the 3.000303 is what you update the unit to first as this is what's available. Then you upgrade again using pioneers FREE update for all those running version 3.

There is however a new version update which I've not managed to get hold of yet, soon as I do I will put some update instructions up. :-)

ok cheers, do you know if there is much difference between the 2 versions? Its just I read earlier in the topic that some people had problems when installing pioneers free version over the top.

Posted Aug 16, 2010 · 08:44 UTC#44

I think there's a changelog on pioneers website with details of the update. I'm after the latest update at the moment, anyone care to share.. for experimental purposes only mind ;-)

Posted Aug 16, 2010 · 11:43 UTC#45

is it version 4.0 you are trying to get?? I am also trying to find that but as yet nothing has been posted and cant find any torrents etc.

I have a problem with WinCE. Does anyone can help me. Mine was successful make 15 steps. My unit starts format Flash disk, but about 30 secunds (44 percent of all formats) Screen goes black and thats all. What do to. Are there any other options for updating WinCe. I attaced a video file.

1. format an SD card on your PC using the FAT32 file system

2. Check that your SD has no files on it

3. Copy from the files WINCEIMG.BIN and WINCEIMG.CKS from the above zip to the root dirctory of your new SD card

4. Verify the only files on the new SD card are WINCEIMG.BIN and WINCEIMG.CKS

5. Boot your avic into the service mode using the next steps

6. Power on the AVIC

7. When the boot screen appears, Press and hold in the Menu, Map and Eject buttons

8. Press the reset keep pressing in the eject button , Menu, Map.

9. You will see Blue screen with the words "Please push reset key again", you can now let go of the keys

10. Enter the password, Press UP, UP, DOWN, MENU, LEFT, RIGHT

11. You will now be in the service menu.

12. Its a good idea to test the Bluetooth while you are here so do that if you like. NOTE: Option 2 in the bluetooth menu will bot work with a special cable

13. Go into the WINCE Upgrade menu

14. Insert the SD card we made in the first 6 Steps

15. Select the first option, "WINCE by SD/MMC (Format). This will reformat "My Flash Disk"

Posted Sep 06, 2010 · 11:06 UTC#48

mines doing exactly the same, step 15. from

16. The Winceimg files will now copy into flash. This takes about 5 mins to complete. On the bottom of the scree you will see this as it's done.

17. Wait till you asked to restart

18. Press the reset button again.

i downloaded the 3 files from viewtopic.php?f=32&t=31236 which comes to 1.49gb, i put that onto the sd card and copy that to the My flash disk and wait 20 mins but when i restart nothing happens.

what am i doing wrong? now i put the 3 files on the sd card and copy them onto My flash disk but when i restart i get my splash screen then nothing

i saw on another post that on the sd card you should have 19 icons http://www.imagebam.com/image/5fa19542574343

but i only got the three from the downloads

help please

thanks

Thanks a lot.

Your wince brought my F910 back to booting from the SD. Reinstalling all the files got the whole system back in track.

Hi everyone,

Great forum and thanks for all your efforts.

I just carried out the update, all as recommended and went fine. Then I applied the Pioneer update, went fine.

Everything works but the unit stopped remembering the last used audio source. That is, when I listen to the radio and switch off the engine, go buy a pack of fags or whatever, turn the engine on, and it always starts in USB mode and plays folder 1, song 1. I can of course manually switch to radio, but before I do, I have song 1 in folder 1, always.

It actually starts driving me nuts. What do I do? Is there some config file where I can tell the unit to remember that I was listening to radio before getting out?

Thanks for all suggestions.
