One question to the community: what capacities of USB and SD have people tried? I want to get a 32GB SD or USB, but want to know what people have tried.

In Pioneer's manual, it says that the MAX supported for both SD and USB key is 8 GB, but I already connected a 16 GB USB key and it mostly works, but with thing that I don't understand, like the folders order is erradic, if you scroll the folders forward or backward, you got different name etc.

Anyway, I recommend using only MAX 8GB because beyond that, the AVIC will take enormous time each time you insert the Flash, since it has to search through all your folders to build the media files tree, and believe me, the speed sucks for that matter and you will be irritated very much

Worst of that, before the search if over, you can't hear anything or change anything in the unit, not even switching sources ... some time is up to 5 minutes of waiting .

I have however noted that SD is faster then USB.

i updated my avic f900bt with this version.

everything is working fine EXCEPT TTS. anyone the same problem?

F900BT here. It all went through just fine except now some of my options don't seem to save at random. It also (While playing from an SD card) very occasionally will hang and then reboot.

(I was on a hacked previous 3.01 or whatever it was before) and I didn't get the WinCE upgrade part as the blue screen didn't show up. It went immediately into Windows CE where I did the deleted the original files and replaced them with this.

You have a F90BT right? I have a F700BT and Pioneer's website says that our RCA assemblies are different:

I don't know if it would help you much, but I still can take pics if you want them.

I was able to see the files on windows from my SD card exactly, so I know they were there. I reset probably 1 minute after the files were copied...was that too short of a time period?

I finally broke down and called Pioneer customer support, and learned that my unit is under warranty still. So it's on a plane somewhere today from Kansas City to Long Beach, CA. I think there is more wrong with that unit than I know, hence the reason this upgrade would not work. Perhaps I'll try this again once my unit comes back working correctly...or I may just leave it alone and be happy with a functioning unit.

I just hope that Pioneer will not invalidate your warranty because you are trying to hack the unit, and that unknown files to them are stored in your "My Flash Disk".

I thought about this after I sent it in...One of the problems I'm having is that it does not save the files.

2fup and sgambino . Reformat your SD card as Fat32 filesystem and recopy the files the card and restart update process from the begining. That should fix everything

 

kj42598 I don't have a Sirius Tuner or any external tuner for that matter, for now all I can suggest to you is to reformat your SD and try it again like the 2 fellas above. Just to completely rule out an install error. I should have a sirius tuner soon that I can play with, If the 2nd time around install doesn't help just go back to regular 3.0 for now, do you have a copy?

 

I re-installed and when just running v3 without all this great mods, it still scrolls channels when the volume control is turned.

 

Somewhere i read that this v3 is not the same as the one from Pioneer. Who wrote or modified this one?

Yes! But please verify as you might already have an update to day firmware. If it say FW V 3.020x, where x is either 1 or 2, then it is up to date.

But it is the mod that i want to do

NO!

If it is 1 or 2, then you are already up to date, so no need to update again. If you bought you X910BT recently, then it should already be up to date.

does anyone know if i flash this image over top of my current stock image on my x910bt with diaftia hybrid mod, will i lose that mod? if yes, can i simply just do the mod again? basically im just looking to get the updated maps, as my maps still say they are from 2008. also i heard that these new TA maps arent as details or as good as the older maps, because no highway signs or something. if anyone can confirm this, ill probably update the maps anyways, just cause to have newer maps.

just did this because I was having problems with my unit after i did the official 3.0 update. my unit was modded prior to my purchasing it and it was not liking the 3.0. everything seems to be working so far with this update. it kept failing the winceimage update from sd format, but i figured that was more because of the fact that i might already have this windows firmware loaded from the 3.0 update.

I just paired my phone and transferred contacts and am making my first call: WORKS (status prior: didnt work)

Put in my Talking Heads DVD: WORKS (status prior: works)

iPod: WORKS (status prior: didn't work)

branded poi: WORKS (status prior: none)

speed camera: WORKS (status prior: had it before the 3.0 mod, but not after)

The only thing i wasnt expecting was the debug mode on the system settings service information button. I was going to check if it updated and its got all kinds of stuff on it. (didnt fiddle)

overall it is working so much better than before, THANK YOU so much!!

OK I finally got it working on my F700bt US version.

 

BUT I have got following issues:

 

1. my unit can not detct any SD card ****BIG PROBLEM***** PLEASE HELP

*** I can boot my unit using SD card, but when unit is running in its normal state it can not detect SD card

 

I will appreciate if some one please shed some lights on the above problem

That is what I said. If you have FW 3.0201 (USA) or FW 3.0202 (Europe), then you don't need the FW upgrade. You have just to download your favorite mods from this forum.

I downloaded the uTorrent client and have no issue downloading the torrent...my issue was with my old installation of bittorrent :/

it shouldnt. i have an f90bt with the hardware bypass installed and i have no issues

Just wanted to tell you I just used your mod to upgrade my f700bt from 2.0 to current. What a great way to do it. So painless. All I added after was the compass button stop navigation and the no more red boxes mod. Now its perfect! Thanks for all your hard work and time you put into this. Made my life much easier! You did a great job spelling out the instructions. Thanks again!!
