Hey everyone,I have done extensive reading over the last few days before deciding to make this post.I have a F900bt that when its powered up,nothing shows on the screen, the cd spins up for a second, but wont eject, the buttons light for about 20 seconds and then thats it,only the fan running.

Now if I try to enter test mode by pressing reset, eject, map and menu, the lights on the unit fade up and down, but still nothing on the screen, just the fan running. The unit is stock as far as I know, but out of warranty and I really dont want to ship it off to pioneer for the $200 fix.

Anyone have any suggestions?Im very electronically inclined and am not opposed to opening this radio up if it can save me some cash.

To enter service mode u press MENU,RESET,MAP AND EJECT when the screen goes black u release ONLY reset but keep holding MENU, MAP AND EJECT. That will take u to service mode NOT test mode....... To get to test mode u must download TESTMODE files to an sd card insert the sd card and it will automatically get u to test mode.

Im sorry I called it test mode.Service mode is what I meant. The problem is the screen is ALWAYS black. When I power on the unit, the screen is black and the buttons light for about 20 seconds then go off,the fan stays on.If I try to enter service mode, the buttons fade up and down and the fan runs,Screen still black.

Anyone know if this is possibly a hardware issue? It just kind of happened over night. It worked fine one day, started the truck and now its like this.

Thats exactly what my deck did, before i fixed it........ Are u sure your pushing all four buttons at the same time than after about 5 seconds only realese the reset and keep holding the other 3.

Would it matter that Im using a power supply to power it,meaning that both power wires are recieving power at the same time instead of the constant already being powered before the ignition?Thats all I can come up with at the time.

No, it shouldn't matter that you are using a power supply. It will take longer than 5 seconds on some units. I hold all 4 buttons in for 12 seconds then release the reset and hold the remaining 3 in. If you listen closely, you will hear a change in fan speed and it may take up to another 12 seconds for the blue screen to appear. It may take 3 or 4 tries using this method. Make sure you are holding all the buttons in that your supposed to be. Good luck!

I hear the change in fan speed.Ill give it one more go this evening.Im starting to think that maybe the screen is just screwed up.

Spent over an hour on this damn thing last night.Nothing.Nada.Zip.

Anyone have anything I havent tried yet?Im really starting to think the screen is bad,but then again it wont eject the cd thats in there either.

I have the exact same issue!

Starts up, screen is blank, lights go off after about 15-20 seconds, but the fan stays on.

Can't enter test mode or get anything on screen. And when holding down the buttons to get into service mode, my lights change to blue and start to flash repeatedly.

Help!

RU sure your power supply delivers enough current for the unit? The light changes make me ask, but I'd think the fan speed would change as the lights vary.

BTW - This happened to me when updating my firmware and it crashed in the middle of it.

Also, I have mine hooked up to a PC power supply right now too, but the problem was also there before when it was in my car.

Yea,I thought it may be a power supply issue as well,so I tried it in the car with no results.Looks like I have to pay pioneer to fix it.damn it.

There must be something we can do!

I wish I could figure it out.Im really delaying shipping this thing off, because it has the exact same symptoms as everyone elses that went down.Is there any chance that there being a CD in the drive is affecting anything? It seems to spin up every time that I turn on the radio.

I've read every post about how to fix this but my problem is that I can't get into the system to make the fix. My unit starts up, stays on the splash screen for 13 seconds and then restarts. I've got the SD card with testmode 2.3 at the root and I've tried holding all the buttons and releasing reset. The unit just restarts again and I can't get anywhere!!

PLEASE HELP!!!

I actually did get to the teatmode and have formatted, installed WinCE and then copied over the full 2.06 FW. It still hangs at the splash screen and revolts every 5-10 min

The title says testmode but describes service mode. What are you trying to accomplish

Hi there. I have also a reboot loop with my AVIC F900BT and can't get it into the testmode. I'm using a European version (I'm dutch). I have tried to download the torrent of tail24 (topic:

Torrent full of Avic F files)

, but I think there are no seeders. How can I get those files en does anyone have any tips for me? I've read a lot on this on the forum, and saw a lot of different advices. Does anyone know which one is the best for a F900BT?

Posted Aug 28, 2012 · 12:56 UTC#24

It is currently seeding as it shows people are downloading it on my computer.

Do you have testmode v2.3 on your computer?

Posted Aug 28, 2012 · 13:39 UTC#25

Tail24, thank you for responding. Good to know that the files are available, then I can watch at home why I can not download them. I don't have the test mode v2.3 on my PC. I've got an old version, but that doesn't work. Where can I download v2.3 test mode?
