I am having the same problem with a iPhone 4 running 6.1.2 and AppRadio 2.3.0 I have also tried AppRadio 2.0.1

Same here on iPhone 4, black screen and having to launch apps directly on the phone's screen.

Can you try moving Mint out of a folder and see if the problem goes away? I think I know what's causing it, just trying to confirm.

I moved mint out of the folder it fixed the problem

Hey,

im gonna try it again with some more information.

I tried that with ios 5 some times ago and it worked perfectly, thanks again for that.

iPhone 4

iOS 6.1 JB

MobileSubstrate: 0.9.4001

PreferenceLoader: 2.2.1-1

AppList: 1.5.4

AppRadio: 2.3.0

AppRadio Extensions: 2.0.1-294

Pioneer FW:  HW05-SW01.27.20

Radio: AVH 8400BT

I installed all of that and restartet my iPhone.

If i plug my phone in now and start Appradio it doesnt show any apps. I also startet a not supported App and it doesnt work.

My screen becomes black und keeps beeing black.

Does anybody know why or how to fix that?

Sorry for my bad english, im german :)

Greetings

Can someone record a quick video of their iPhone 5 running the latest AppEx beta? I want to see where the touches register on different parts of the screen while mirroring. After that, I should have more than enough information to figure out whats wrong.

I'm unable to launch an app to be able to do this as the beta displays the touch coordinate but then doesn't do anything else. If you can fix this, I'll then make a video. Or will doing a video of a supported app be ok?

You can use the beta from the first page instead of the one with the alert.

But then I can't do a video for you to help you coordinate the iPhone 5 :-)

I think he wants a video of you using an unsupported app, showing how far off the calibration is.

I sent him a vid of me using Radarscope and showing where I have to press on the screen to activate the buttons in the app. For me, it's about .5" below and 2" to the right…making buttons at the bottom and on the right side of the screen impossible to touch.

Ahhh, I misunderstood the request - I thought Mike wanted to see the coordinates to be able to work out how far the calibration was off.

well im using DisplayOut to stretch my tomtom app to 16:9 full screen , touch control would be nice but it ain't necessary for me

considering tomtom is the only app i use with my appradio

I'm running IOS 5.11, I understand I need the older version of app radio for app radio extensions to work.

The FAQ's say "search" for the download on this forum, it's been posted multiple times.

I spent a lot of time searching yesterday, I could not find any download links for it, just a lot of talking about it.

Am I just being a noob, or am I missing somthing?

Thanks.

I installed the latest version of appradio extensions to iphone 4, working with 8400BT. The display of the unsupported applications is better than the previous version, but the calibration of the touch events is worst. Any solution to the problem? Is there any manual calibration method available, where the user can define the coordinates of all the screen corners (even if a manual changed in a configuration file is required) ?

Im having a problem with my phone app freezing after i hang up on a call.  I have to back all the way out to the springboard back to the advanced app mode home. SBrotator 6 might be causing it but only when connected to app radio.

Perfect, thanks!  Installed and works like a charm. Great work.

On my way to make a donation now.

Mike, feel free to put my link wherever you'd like. I made it specifically for people running AppEx

On a kind of related note; are there any plans to update AppEx for iOS 5.1.1?

I used to have an issue where I'd lose touch after 20-30 seconds of running an unsupported app because appradio would crash/close. After installing Background Manager and adding AppRadio to it, it stayed in the background fine and didnt crash anymore. After several weeks it stopped working. Not sure if it's due to the latest appex version I upgraded to or the version of background manager or something else.

Anyone know what the root cause of this was as it used to be an issue awhile ago that was fixed before.

Just released beta 15. It fixes a bunch of reported issues:

Notifications.

Switching from an unsupported app back to the AppRadio app menu.

Launching the AppRadio app via Activator.

Springboard rotation when closing an app.

Missing app icons.

I also added a Force Mirroring option for apps that have built in support for external displays (include Pandora).

NOTE:

I made some modifications to the touch calibration in this version as well. If anyone has issues with any device, let me know.

I have issues with the calibration with the previous version of AppRadio Extensitions with AVH8400BT and iphone 4. I will report if the problem still exists ASAP.

Thanks for all your effort. Great application.

Hello Mike,

how should I use SBRotator and activator?

Thank you for your work!

Hi Mike,

Here's what I've found with the latest version and my iPhone5.

Notifications now work and they're really useful!

Unfortunately, calibration is now way-off.  Here's a list of places I've pressed and what actually registers.

  • Top-left back button = fine
  • Top-right cancel button = doesn't register at all
  • Further down = presses are registering higher than I'm touching
  • shift key = q
  • z = w
  • x = e
  • c = e
  • v = r
  • b = r
  • n = t
  • m = t
  • backspace = y
  • 123 = a
  • keyboard selector (image of globe) = a
  • microphone = s
  • spacebar (depending on where you press) = s, d, f or g
  • search = h
Could you perhaps add some extra fields to the settings so that we can play with the offsets and values for the calibration?  It will save you having to try to work it all out blind.

With the new version the calibration problems are still there.

In the left side of the application the calibration is OK, while in the right side is not. It seems that the rightest calibration values are outside the screen. Is it possible to add the calibration values as a manual option in the menu? With that change we can try many different configurations and help you to resolve the problem.

Yea, thats a good idea. The next version will have some extra fields in the settings. Sounds like it's just off by a multiplier. Thanks for the help.
