Not for $120. If I could get it for $20 I might think about it, otherwise it's getting pirated.

I'd probably do it for 60 but I do agree 120 is too high

Posted Aug 18, 2012 · 02:24 UTC#4

$120 is expensive but a lot less expensive than what some car manufacturer's map upgrades go for. For example the update for the 2011 Mazda 6 goes for $199.

the upgrade in my OEM navi from Cadillac was 219 i think 120 is good but

i have not been to there site to check it out does that include

firmware updates or is it just map and map only

also it looks like thats TOM TOM so is that what they are using instead of the navteq ? im confused i thought they switched to Nav tech but they use tom tom ?

Posted Aug 18, 2012 · 04:50 UTC#7

Bogus if it's still using Tom tom after they switched to nav tech on the x940. I want an tech for my x920. Come on pioneer get with it.

http://www.pioneerel...ades/CNSD-350FM

it says x910 but I figured it would work with the 920 and 930 models so I called.....they confirmed it.

So who is going to buy them?

This will NOT!!! work on the second gen X series which includes the 920/930/940. That is why you see a reference to TomTom sense TeleAtlas is owned by TomTom. You need to stop listining to Pioneer. That is why this forum is here, because the people on the phone at Pioneer don't know anything about Pioneer products. :P

LOL VBlue.....imagine how pissed I would have been with that

Do you work for pioneer? Good golly how do you know this? Asking vblue. I'd be mad if I were to purchase something that wasn't compatible to my device.

I certainly do not work for Pioneer.

It uses a new nav tech mapping system which I want on mine.

You have the latest you are going to get for at least a year. And the maps that come on the unit when you get it are always at least a year behind. This thread is about getting the 940 upgrade for their older units and the hope that this was it.

Nice. Does the chip have any other updates besides the new mapping system. Just checking. X920 user.

Yes.

Posted Aug 25, 2012 · 03:04 UTC#18

It does have other updates? Or we're you just saying it works on the x920 which I do know after looking at it.

You will have an X940 if you install it.

Hi!

We have a x9310bt in our 2012 Legacy. The car was built sometime in 2011, so I would think that the maps are 2011 at the latest. Is there away to tell what the year of the maps are? I remember on my Garmins it wasn't this tough to figure it out.

There are 2012 maps for our unit available. See this link:

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/Accessories/Map-Upgrades/NAVTEQ+2012+Map+Upgrade+for+AVIC-Z130BT,+AVIC-X930BT,+and+AVIC-X9310BT

According the the manual it takes about 3 hours to install. Have you done the update? Did it take that long? Did you have to connect a charger to the battery for this?

Thanks

From the install manual it looks like there is a one time passcode for the nav upgrades? Looks like pioneer finally tried to do something about map sharing that was happening. I dont care about the maps but I do care about the android capability. It sucks they make us 930 owners pay $120 for something that should have essinentally been a free upgrade and is available in the X940

They could have just not offered a software upgrade for 120 bucks and just required you to purchase the 940 for that Android support. Of course thats what all the other manufactures do so I think someone needs to let Pioneer know they are making a big mistake and loosing a lot of money. Especially sense every year we get people posting on this forum with this complaint. It amazes me just how quick people criticize without realizing whats actually being offered of them.

Hi!

I've ordered the 2012 map updates for our x9310bt. It should be here next week.

Will ours be a 940 as well? Is a 940 better (than a 9310)?

Also, we have seen our car radio units that handle more than one BT phone at the same time. The 9310 doesn't now. Will the update let us have more than one BT phone connected at the same time?

Irregardless its still a lovely unit - our first built in.

Thanks

Thanks
