I have the Z130 and a proclip. I upgraded to the iphone 5, gave my wife the 4s I had, and traded her iphone 4 for a 32 ipod touch 4th gen. I have it set to sync wirelessly (I have a Macbook, so wireless syncing actually works) This works great because my phone stays in my pocket and connnects bluetooth when I start it up, I have the phone in hotspot mode and the touch, which stays in the dock, connects to the phone. This way I have music, video, app controls, and Netflix. I push all content wirelessly so I don't have to touch the touch LOL.
iPhone 5 support?
The adapter worked but it would not allow calls to come through while my iPhone 5 was plugged into the unit. I tested this multiple times and every time it was plugged into the head unit no ringing and not even my phone lighting up to tell me I had a call. Once I unplugged it from the unit my calls came through just fine. This is with leaving Bluetooth off and being on any other menu other than the "iPod" menu.
I have a z110bt currently updated to z120bt software. Not sure if that has something to do with it. I was using the $40 lighting to 30 pin adapter (the one that has the short cable). I have decided to return it for now and j just use a USB to lighting cable for charging purposes for the time being.
Is there something unique in the Apple cable adapters that makes this work while the knockoff adapters from eBay do not?
Two things;
1. in response to HyPnOtlk, Don't know about z110 updated to z120 but I have been placing and receiving calls (even with Voice recognition) thru my z130 headunit with the block adapter plugged into my Iphone 5 no problem.
2, In response to Trjons, Yes there is a microchip in the Apple adapters.
I have been a Pioneer owner since 1978. I have always trusted their products and have thought that they are unrivaled in auto stereo. Lately though I have come to the conclusion that Pioneer obviously is only concerned with releasing the newest products without giving a thought to supporting the previous sold line of products. I will not upgrade to the latest AVIC product again. I have owned 3 generations of the AVIC and am tired of Pioneer's answers as to getting support to compatiblilty issues with my peripherals. They charge too much money for each upgrade.
Just found some info on Pioneer's site. Looks like we'll need Lightning to USB and Lightning to VGA adapters as well as the $100 CD-IV202NAVI kit. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Press-Room/Car-Audio-Video/Pioneer+Announces+Enhanced+iPhone+5+Connectivity+for+AppRadio+2+and+AppRadio+Mode+Products

Adding this to the OP. good info!

$100 for Pioneer+$50 for Lightning to VGA + $20 for Lightning to USB = $170 to update just to use App Radio. IMHO probably not worth it for a system that didn't work all that well to begin with.
I have been using my 30 pin adapter (block style) with my Z130 and the new Proclip Iphone 5 cradle.
This is what I am getting from my 5
1. All audio from Pandora (which is working flawlessly).
2. All audio from my playlists
3. All audio alerts from my Escort Live app.
4. Charging of course
5.Only gripe I have is that everytime I plug the phone in while listening to another source, the Z goes into App mode.
I also have my 3gs plugged into AV2 on video and get all my video playlists there.
what about calling?
All calling functions work through the z130. Incoming outgoing and voice recognition functions as well. Just remember to turn on echo canceling.
hello
i am mulling an iphone 5 and was curious if anyone tried the lightning adapter/iphone 5 with a z110bt?
thanks
Ok so maybe I am missing something. I bought an z130 upgraded it to the 140 and don't have app radio or other compatibility with my current 30pin to lightning adapter. What will i need to buy so I can use my app radio function? Will it work with a 130 upgraded to a 140? Why is pioneer making this so complicated?
No You

The Iphone 5 can native cable doesn't do video out. People who have the appradio2 can use the hdmi with the digital out but since the z130-140 doesn't offer an hdmi in, it will never work.
Pandora and ipod functions as well as Bluetooth phone calls are all good though.
I have a Z130 with the latest Navtech update. I also have an Iphone 4. It works good as everyone knows. I'd like to get an Iphone 5 but I don't care to go through the hassel of another cable workaround to get video and the app radio items. Anyone know if it would it be possilbe to get say Netfliex video and app radio through an Ipod Touch 4 hooked up to the existing cable as long as the Ipod was tethered via wifi to the Iphone 5 for the internet access?

Not true.
It does not say that cable will work with the z130?
Upgrade your 130 to the 140 and it will for sure. Regardless the 110/120/130/140 are all the same unit so it shouldn't matter. But your statement was "since the z130-140 doesn't offer an hdmi in, it will never work." and Im saying that is not true. Especially sense this adapter doesn't even use HDMI.
Will this cable work with the 140 and the iPhone 5?
Yes.
I'm planning on upgrading to the AVIC-Z150BH and I was wondering if anyone with the CD-IH202 cable had any luck switching back and forth between 30-pin and lighting using each one's digital A/V adapters? Since I'm assuming USB is charge/control and HDMI supplies audio/video input, it seems like it would be possible.
I ask as I would like to use my iPhone 5 for audio/video playback fairly often, but also use my iPod classic as a music library that stays in the car.
I thought the whole point was that the iPhone5 does not output video over the standard USB cable and needs the digital adapter to send video? Is this not the case?

That is correct.

That is correct. <-- So with anything that does not have HMDI input, iPhone5 will not have video support people.
Now - There's video at the bottom of the iphone5 at the lighting port. It just doesn't want to come out unless you have the digital adaptor. My guess is there is a chip in that adaptor that signals the iphone5 to release the video out the lightening port. I have also seen usb video adaptors for monitors and pc's. If someone can trick the lightening port to thinking that it has a digital adaptor hooked into it, it may pass the video out the usb end. Tough work ahead if someone wants to try that.
The Apple digital adapter pig tail has a few chips in there that do conversion/decoding whatever. Apple released the lighting to 30-pin adapter but for some reason they left out the video part of it.
They should have included a video chip on there to output the video as well.
